The first official remix of the highly praised collaboration of Daft Punk and The Weeknd, “Starboy”, is finally here, and by none other than Kygo.
Considering the status of Daft Punk as one of the biggest names in dance music history, remixing their track with The Weeknd could be seen as a daunting task. Perhaps that is why we haven’t seen any remixes of “Starboy” thus far. Kygo was up to the challenge and came through with a beautiful take on the original, out now on Republic Records! Not only is this track a fantastic take on the tune, but also is the only official remix of the massive track that has been released.
From the start, the remix carries Kygo’s signature sound while staying true to the vibe of the original track. The Norwegian producer initially gained recognition for his quality remixes, with beautiful takes on songs like Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” and Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire.” While his career began as a remixer, this is only his second released remix of 2016. He has been busy creating his own album and playing shows across the world.
