Welcome to The Landing, EDM Identity’s weekly post highlighting fresh tracks you may have missed!

Since the introduction of streaming sites like SoundCloud, YouTube, and Spotify, as well as release mediums like Bandcamp available for artists to release on, new music is hitting us faster than ever. The abundance of releases can almost be overwhelming, as the tools for production and releasing music are easily accessible for anyone around the world. We know that it is a difficult task to keep up with every release from every artist, so we’re here to assist you with some gems that “land” in our inboxes. In every edition of The Landing, we intend to highlight some tracks that you may have missed, or perhaps shine a light on new music for you to fall in love with.

This week’s edition of The Landing features fresh tracks from HAL-V & SpaceCase, Engine-Earz Experiment, Borgeous, MORTEN, Gramatik, Ramzoid, Borgore, Jai Wolf, Matthew Koma, and Two Can!

The Landing || April 16 – 22, 2017

HAL-V & SpaceCase declare you “The Hunted”

HAL-V & SpaceCase – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

On April 21, the depths of the bass music underworld made way for another dark addition HAL-V & SpaceCase’s “The Hunted”. This deep dub track, lacquered in trappy riddim undertones, remains true to these artist’s crisp, eclectic style. Together, this Portland-grown duo created a greater darker force, enshrouding sounds from other music traditions in their distinctive trap flair. With such variety in their spread and depth to their sound, each track is a new experience, on which we’re all along for the ride.

Engine Earz Experiment Fly Away Blue Moon
Engine-Earz Experiment’s first official release is a stunning symphony of sound.

Engine-Earz Experiment – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Prash Mistry, better known as Engine-Earz Experiment, is no stranger to the electronic scene, having previously worked with the likes of Jorje Smith and Dillon Francis. Joining Circus Records for his first official release, he truly knocks it out of the park with two highly unique tracks featuring some very interesting vocalists. The first track, “Fly Away,” features none other than bass virtuoso Flux Pavilion, who lends his vocal talents without producing anything at all. The track itself is dark, at times contemplative, and frequently dramatic, providing a perfect foundation for the impressive vocals. The second, “Blue Moon,” features the ethereal vocals of Norwegian singer, songwriter, and film composer Kate Havnevik blended with a lush symphony of sounds and grounded by an unexpected bassline. The entire two-track release is stunning and well worth a listen.

Borgore Help
Borgore drops fresh new track “Help”!

Borgore – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Released on his own label, Buygore, earlier this week, Borgore has once again impressed with a solid bass-driven tune. The infectious bassline is sure to get crowds hyped, and with lyrics that have become a true signature of a Borgore track there is just absolutely no stopping this man. Rapped by Borgore himself, the lyrics give a look into his fight with his inner demons, which of course are women, weed, and alcohol, the true party lifestyle. Stream it below or click HERE for a variety of other options!

Borgeous Morten Hold Up
MORTEN and Borgeous team up on the bass heavy “Hold Up”

MORTEN – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud || Borgeous –  Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

This duo set out on a mission to impress, and they definitely did a great job at producing a quality bass tune that is sure to dominate sets in the coming months. “Hold Up” is a dual genre endeavor, blending trap and dubstep elements with some vocals that really make their mark on the release. Having been released on 4/20, it is no surprise that they tell fans to “put some smoke up in it” and let loose for a few minutes. Listen below and add it to your playlist now!

Wall Fuck Gramatik & Ramzoid Remix
Gramatik and Ramzoid team up to remix Flume’s “Wall Fuck”!

Gramatik – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud || Ramzoid –  Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Look, we already love Flume and we already love this tune, so when Gramatik and Ramzoid put their spin on it, we couldn’t help but be enamored by the new remix too. Bringing a fresh take on the track, Gramatik and Ramzoid skillfully made the song their own by altering it just enough that it still pays homage to the original. The almost hip hop-esque stylization of Gramatik also brings loads of funk with it while the rest of the tune blows you away with some quality bass too. Keep your eyes (and ears) out for Ramzoid in the future as well, it is more clear than ever he will be doing great things in 2017.

Matthew Koma Jai Wolf Dear Ana
Jai Wolf and Matthew Koma pen “Dear Ana”!

Matthew Koma – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud || Jai Wolf –  Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Coming off a stunning performance at Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, Jai Wolf has been absolutely exploding onto the scene already this year. For this fresh release he was pinged by Matthew Koma and we absolutely loved the collaboration! More of a pop track than a true electronic song, it features the stunning vocals we’ve come to expect from Matthew Koma, and a quality beat that is soothing to the ear. A letter to “Ana”, the lyrics are powerful and complimented by the beat which comes in at a proper level and doesn’t overtake the tune. Check it out below!

Two Can Outta Here
Two Can drops tropical tune “Outta Here”!

Two Can – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud

Closing out this week’s edition of The Landing is Two Can’s recent release, “Outta Here”, which brings a proper vibe to the weather we’ve been having here on the West Coast. With some quality vocals that fans can sing along to while relaxing by the pool or chilling out at the beach. The tropical house track tells listeners that they’ve got to get “Outta Here” and escape to a destination, effectively breaking the mold of a mundane life. Where is your dream destination? Where would you take a one way ticket to? Let us know in the comments, and check out the tune below!
