Welcome to The Landing, where the EDM Identity rounds up the best tracks from the month that you might have missed!

In each edition of The Landing, we intend to highlight our favorite tracks from a variety of artists, genres, and bpm’s! After 100 weeks of bringing you our favorite tunes weekly, we’ve changed up the format–now, we’ll be bringing you the best tracks from the past month in a playlist that spans artists of all sizes and genres.

This January has been a massive month for new releases, and we’re thrilled to see what the considerable talent in the scene has been putting forth to kick off 2019. From exceptional house releases like Gorgon City‘s “Lick Shot,” and J. Worra & rrotik’s “Ride or Cry” to trance standouts such as Vlind‘s “Surreal Ideals” and Mike EFEX‘s “BX8,” and earth-shattering bass cuts like Dion Timmer‘s “Dab It” and Kompany‘s “Firewall,” there has been no shortage of solid tunes released over the last month.

There’s a little something for everyone in the playlist–so sit back, relax, hit that shuffle button, and enjoy our staff picks from January. With any luck, you’ll find something new that will keep you warm just long enough for festival season to begin.

Erin Cropper

Erin has been listening to electronic music on and off since the early 2000s, which is when trance music captured her heart and soul. Over the years, she has expanded into a number of other styles and genres, especially techno and house. Originally from Chicago, she spent the better part of the last decade seeking out any electronic music she could find, and traveled the length of the country in search of some incredible moments at festivals like EDC, TomorrowWorld, and the Dirtybird Campout. Having since settled in Denver, she focuses her energies primarily on the house and techno scene around town and traveling to mountain and west coast festivals whenever possible.
