The newest Pryda release “Stay With Me” beckons us into a cold, industrial world.

Today, Eric Prydz has officially released the newest track under his Pryda alias, “Stay With Me”. The track was initially debuted on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy radio show in its 252nd episode in late September. Since then, the venerable producer has been teasing its release, most recently by posting an incredible video of the track being played live to social media.

Initially known to the masses only as the “Prytrance ID” that appeared in several of his sets at festivals and in Prydz’s residency at Hï Ibiza this summer, “Stay With Me” lets us in on a darker side of the Pryda alias. It begins simply enough, with a driving bassline, percussion, and an eerie scratching sound that will have you on the edge of your seat before building up the tension with layers upon layers of synths, creating the drama as only Eric Prydz can.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about “Stay With Me” is the use of several extremely well-placed sound effects and samples that draw the listener in. One of the most notable is the use of a cold female voice that beckons the listener, “Stay with me… you will feel it for a few hours.” The sample appears to be pulled from 2017’s King Arthur, along with several of the other sound effects used in the track. The overall effect is both chilling and strangely hypnotic, calling to mind the darkest, most twisted thoughts of an overactive mind.

About Eric Prydz:

For over ten years, Eric Prydz has been synonymous with immaculately produced and unique sounding electronic music. The Platinum-selling producer is responsible for some of the biggest progressive house tracks of the last decade, not to mention some of the most technically impressive live shows of any touring artist.

As a solo artist, Prydz has headlined some of the world’s most storied venues, from Madison Square Garden to Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace, earned multiple Grammy nominations and topped charts with his alter-egos Pryda and Cirez D. Despite the headline-grabbing shows and releases, Prydz remains reclusive. It’s his dedication to his craft as a producer and DJ that leaves him in the highly enviable and singular position of appealing to dance music’s underground connoisseurs and main-stage masses alike.

Over the years, she has expanded into a number of other styles and genres, especially techno and house. Originally from Chicago, she spent the better part of the last decade seeking out any electronic music she could find, and traveled the length of the country in search of some incredible moments at festivals like EDC, TomorrowWorld, and the Dirtybird Campout. Having since settled in Denver, she focuses her energies primarily on the house and techno scene around town and traveling to mountain and west coast festivals whenever possible.
