Christina Novelli Tops Off Her ‘Heavy’ EP

After nurturing the Heavy premiere with a string of releases, trance icon Christina Novelli puts the final touch on her latest EP!

Since her epic breakthrough as co-writer on “Concrete Angel” with Gareth Emery back in 2012, Christina Novelli has been regarded as an indispensable industry visionary, earning her multiple awards as well as opportunities to work with major players in the game like Richard Durand, Craig Connelly, Bryan Kearney, and Markus Schulz. That being said, it’s always a fantastic day when Christina Novelli unleashes new music and proves that notion once again with the completion of her four-track love story called Heavy.

While the full package is out now on Black Hole Recordings, the journey began back in March on Christina’s own Muse Music Records with the release of the title track. “Heavy” touches on all the fresh emotions felt after a heart-crushing breakup. But, while that sounds sad, the song highlights the strength found deep within – moving through the pain with acceptance and grace. This tear-worthy tune quickly received the remix treatment by Daxson, who added a major scoop of heavenly uplift.

The next track to see the light of day was “We’re Home.” This offering was so well received that it garnered two remixes from Mark Sixma, who took his M6 alias for a spin, and Rave Republic, who revved the BPMs for heavy impact. As far as the story goes, Christina flips to the other side of the token with lyrics that reflect finding your forever person, set upon a bright, stimulating soundscape.

The last tease to hit the trance family arrived last month. “Black Heart” drove the breakup concept home, letting the listener know that even if your ex comes running back, remember why you stepped away and hold strong to that conviction. The tender instrumentals add sparkle to the struggle, and even Anjuna staple Sunny Lax swung by to deepen the groove and double down on a very real human circumstance.

Yesterday, Christina placed the final cherry on top with the unveiling of “Memories.” This track reveals that while the broken-hearted moves towards bigger and better things, reflecting on the past is equally healing. Christina implements a barrage of bursting synth tones and a perky bassline to bring the concept to life and inspire those feet to keep running. With the EP making waves, Christina plans on creating a tsunami when she brings the music to Cancun, Mexico, on Wednesday, July 19, for a special YouTube live DJ set! Set a reminder to watch on your favorite viewing platform!

With all the pieces in place, it’s time to fall in love all over again! Grab your copy of Heavy on your favorite music platform, stream the EP on Spotify, and let us know your thoughts about the beats on Twitter!
