You’re Never “Alone” With This Playlist by Jan Blomqvist

Fresh off the release of his latest single, “Alone,” Jan Blomqvist drops off an exclusive playlist that will wrap your soul in a sonic hug!

Jan Blomqvist may have gotten his start in the punk and thrash scene, but his tender, yet profound, soundwaves rule the dance space when it comes to the electronic universe. Within the last decade, the accomplished Berliner has settled quite nicely into his own pocket of deep house, melodic, indie, and chill tech, offering his fanbase music they can relate to. In fact, productions like Disconnected, Carry On, and his latest single, “Alone” with Malou, benefit the psyche, leaving listeners refreshed and completely in tune with their emotions.

A true musician through and through, you’ll often find Jan Blomqvist incorporating a plethora of equipment and instruments during his live sets, including his own vocals. Some of his greatest work has come to life on Mayan Warrior at Burning Man and atop a mountain in France for Cercle Stories, as well as within a 20-minute documentary that takes fans deep into his studio, behind the scenes for the creation of his “Kaleidoscope Colors” music video and performance at KOKO. But that’s all past, and the future is looking mighty bright because Jan heads to Coachella next to make fresh memories under the desert sun.

It has been beautiful to watch this astonishing beatmaker, so we caught up with Jan to touch base and find out what he has been vibing with lately. In response, he graciously put together a playlist full of vocal tunes and collabs that inspire his life and work, featuring Klangkarussell, Stereo Express, Andhim, Elderbrook, and more, in addition to many of Jan’s own personal studio productions. As the inviting music pumps its way through the speakers, listeners will come to realize that while his latest track may be called “Alone,” we’re never truly alone in this scene. All we have to do is join our fellow music seekers on the closest dancefloor and feel the isolation dissipate into the night sky.

Back in the days, vocals on electronic music were the exception rather than the norm. This has changed quite a bit and a lot of artists are now collaborating with others to create tracks. For me this is also a great development because this allows me to change things up a bit. Here are a couple of my favourites in this moment of time.
