Anjunadeep star Marsh enlists Toronto’s Simon Doty to kick off his third album announcement in style by releasing “Touch The Sky.”
There are few artists on the Anjunadeep roster who many of the faithful have closely watched as Marsh. Over the years, he’s delivered a slew of EPs and his album, Lailonie, on the London-based label, each asking the same question: can you believe the hype? Each one answered with a resounding yes, the echoes of which seemed to get louder and louder as time went on, as more and more of the Anjunadeep faithful were convinced. Further enforcing that notion were his sets that took place everywhere, from the pristine Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky to the serene and remote beaches of Dhermi, Albania, at Anjunadeep Explorations.
So what’s next for Marsh? The semi-nomadic lifestyle the deep house producer had to adapt to while keeping up with the increasing demand for his talents gave Marsh a lot of time to write on the road and a lot of time to ask himself one of the fundamental existential and philosophical questions in the back of every person’s mind – “What is truly home, and will we experience home after this life?”
The question of home spawned Endless, the title of Marsh’s third artist album, and his sophomore outing on Anjunadeep. When writing the album, the concept of home was very flexible. Home is more than a place, it’s a knowing, a feeling. Sometimes the feeling of home is in who you share it with, and to launch the album campaign, Marsh invites into his home fellow Anjunadeep producer and friend Simon Doty for the groovy and soulful “Touch The Sky.”
Combining the trademarks of both producers with Simon Doty’s catchy house melodies and Marsh’s soulful grooves, the housewarming party for Endless kicks off with this long-awaited ID from the two of them. The chemistry on the track between the pair is as clear as the blue night sky that graced their back-to-back closing set for Anjunadeep Open Air Los Angeles, with the hook having you reach for the sky and let your head down while the groove floats you to deep house bliss.
Endless, however, ambitiously aims to explore much more than what this producer is well-known for. Citing inspirations from 2000’s trance, previous collaborators Leo Wood and Mariel Beausejour, and even legendary drum & bass outfit Pendulum, the 12-track album is shaping up to be Marsh’s Icarus offering. His aim is set for higher heights, setting itself up to warm up the spring approaching its February 3, 2023 release date.
With 2023 looking as bright as the sun for Marsh, why not touch the sky? As it stands, this prolific DJ and producer has plenty more room to soar sonically, artistically, as well as philosophically, and doesn’t look like burning out anytime soon. Take a listen to “Touch The Sky” on Spotify or your preferred platform, pre-save Endless ahead of its release, and keep on the lookout for Marsh to make a tour stop near you!
