Jono Grant and Darren Tate Announce Debut Album as JODA

After making a stunning first impression, Jono Grant and Darren Tate are set to release their debut album as JODA this summer.

While creativity was at an all-time low for many during the pandemic, it didn’t stop Jono Grant and Darren Tate from crafting something special together – JODA. Rooted in their collaboration for The Last Glaciers, this new project saw the light of day earlier this year with the release of their debut single, “We Find Ourselves.” Now, just a few short weeks after the release of that tune, more news has surfaced for the JODA project with word of a debut album on the way.

The self-titled debut album from JODA is due out on August 26 via Anjunabeats and is set to feature 12 tracks in total. This body of work will showcase the two artists’ love for vintage synths and retro grooves as they embark on the next chapter of their creative journey. And fans won’t have to wait long to hear more from the duo either as paired with this massive announcement are the latest two singles from these musical masterminds, “Try” and “Dark Strings.”

Available now for your listening pleasure, “Try” and “Dark Strings” both put the immense abilities that Jono Grant and Darren Tate each bring to the project on full display. Synthpop stylings permeate the runtime of “Try,” which is also rooted in more classic songwriting techniques, while there are darker tones and glitchy elements on “Dark Strings” that stir up deeper emotions inside the mind when listening.
