Simon Doty Launches His New Imprint RECESS

**Toronto-based DJ and producer Simon Doty sets the course for his new label RECESS with the release of Reality Check.**

Since first gracing the scene with his presence, Simon Doty has proven his abilities as a DJ and producer time and time again. His recent releases have landed on labels including Anjunadeep, REALM, Purified, and This Never Happened, but now he’s set his sights on flexing his abilities as a tastemaker with the launch of his new label, RECESS.

Those who have followed Simon Doty over the past few months might already be familiar with the RECESS brand after he hosted events at Treehouse Miami that featured some stunning artists. Now, the curated brand will begin featuring some tunes for his fans to groove to with the first release surfacing in the form of the Reality Check EP. This three-tracker sees the Canadian artist explore his tech house roots while layering in some fantastic vocals and deeper grooves, while also being joined by Dosem and Black Circle who both put their unique twist on the track.

I’m thrilled to take this next step with the RECESS brand with the launch of our label. We’ve been lucky to develop a strong crew of artists sharing music and pushing a similar old-school club sound, and I can’t wait to share more records. We’ve already gotten a number of exciting demos and are building out the release schedule, we’re eager to hear your unsigned tracks!
