Tomorrowland Around The World was a massive feat and now, they’ve shared the making of that magical weekend with a new documentary!
Each year, thousands of dance music lovers descend upon Boom, Belgium to catch some unreal beats and immerse themselves in the stunning production elements at Tomorrowland. But while this year put the 2020 edition on pause, the festival organizers were hard at work to create a virtual home for the People of Tomorrow to explore. Dubbed Tomorrowland Around The World, this experience was one of the best things to happen during the pandemic with fantastic performances and plenty more.
Now, as fans continue to bask in the livesets that have surfaced, Tomorrowland has gone an extra step further to showcase just how massive this undertaking truly was with a new documentary called Never Stop The Music – The Creation of Tomorrowland Around The World. Guiding viewers through the early days of the pandemic, how the idea of the virtual festival came about, and what it meant to those who center their summer around the festival itself. It’s a touching tale that shows how much the organizers care about the dance music community and what the future might look like if festivals remain postponed.
The documentary also features interviews with artists like Martin Garrix, Nervo, and Armin van Buuren who performed at the virtual festival who share the initial emotions felt when the pandemic took hold of the world, as well as their experiences this year. Many expressed their amazement with how the virtual festival turned out, with Kölsch stating, “It was so crazy to see the actual end result – how beautiful it all turned out and how mesmerizing it was. It felt like being at an actual festival.”
