Marbs Pulls Us Into the Dark with 'Psilo' on Desert Hearts

**Marbs delivers a mind-expanding experience with Psilo and closes out the Road To Desert Hearts series in the best way possible!**

Today is a very special day within the Desert Hearts camp as Marbs officially delivers Psilo, the final entry on the Road To Desert Hearts series. As most of you know, Desert Hearts Festival was supposed to commence next month but in the midst of these troubling times, the festival has been officially postponed. But we shall not linger very long on the negative. Instead, let’s celebrate the fact that we have some fresh new beats to enjoy.

The EP series was designed and executed by Desert Hearts four core founders and has come full circle, first with Porky’s Chameleon, followed by Lee Reynolds’ Long Weekend, and Mikey Lion’s I feel High. For Marbs, this project shines special as it has been four years since he has released on Desert Hearts. Instead, he has been grinding hard with Evan Casey on Desert Hearts Black, their new sub-label with a focus on the deeper depths of the house and techno realm.

**There is a psychological madness that I can feel within every corner of the Psilo EP.**

At first taste, “Psilo” leads in with obscure quirky flair. Prepping my body, mind, and soul for a musical trip session I become instantly enamored by the rolling bassline and uncomplicated sound details. As the track lurches on, I begin to lose contact with reality as I’m fully focused on each fascinating auditory expression.

It’s as if Marbs understood the hypnotic effect that this track would have on its listener. He finds just the right moments to sneak in low octave blasts that rise and rumble through the airwaves like a Cat 5 hurricane. I am completely sold.

But from there it gets even better my friends.

Get ready for the chills to come creeping up your neck as “Cybin” does the devil’s bidding. There is something so deliciously evil about this track. A heaviness that pulls me into a delusion. With hypnotizing melodic detail, elongated analog riffs, and quick driving percussion I find myself envisioning a daunting landscape of the apocalypse. All that remains is dust, darkness, and debauchery.

For seven minutes Marbs would hold me captive in this place, unleashing every ounce of his dark soul, leaving me thrilled as I am obsessed with music that speaks directly to my imagination.

This EP is everything I would expect from Marbs and more.

Known for his mystical darkness and whimsical tribal rhythms, Marbs’ music is always a delight to experience. It’s a feeling, a mood, and a direct connection to alternate dimensions of the mind.
