Ivy Lab Release First EP Of Their Final Year

**Ivy Lab releases the Point Five E.P after announcing that 2026 will be their last year as a duo.**

The Internet was in shambles when the news broke that 2026 would be Ivy Lab‘s last hoorah as a dynamic duo. It’s been an incredibly influential 13-year ride with the pair spearheading the halftime drum and bass movement and seamlessly blending leftfield bass, hip-hop, and experimental sounds. But thankfully, Ivy Lab isn’t leaving the scene without a proper goodbye.

Announcing their farewell tour was just the beginning. The duo quickly reassured fans that the run of dates wouldn’t only celebrate the past but also introduce new music, giving eager ears something fresh to look forward to and helping soften the blow of their commencement. Today, what will be some of the final sounds we will ever experience from Ivy Lab come to light on their latest body of work, Point Five E.P.

The title track has so much Ivy Lab-coded flair, it’s hard to believe they could fit it into just one single. Jagged frequencies push and pull each other in a tug of war of who can prove they deserve the limelight throughout the entire runtime.

“Mind your business” when we’re jamming “Gossip.” No time to spread rumors when there’s a production to dance to like this one. The percussion alone is enough to keep your body in motion.

The darker side of the duo comes out on “Rajah” as we fall into a pit of distortion. We see a more sub-heavy pressure with low-tempo breakbeats, which combine for an incredible ride. “M.S Components” gives us a glitchy energy that feels as if you’re looking at someone eerily move closer to you in a strobe light, unsure of their next move.

Get ready to keep your head on a swivel as “El Reno” enters with syncopated drum patterns, landing where you least anticipate them as they lurch forward. And last but not least, “Horn” brings this EP to a close with its controlled chaos. You still experience the experimental madness Ivy Lab has to offer, but at a much slower pace.

The Point Five E.P gives listeners the best of both worlds: an entire spread of all of the favorite parts of Ivy Lab, plus some new tings to wrap their minds around. If this music is any indication of how the last year of Ivy Lab will play out, it’s safe to say it’ll be a farewell for the history books.
