Rezz breathes new life into “Contorted” as she blends her early sound with a sharpened vision, reflecting her artistic evolution over the past decade.
More than a decade after its release on SoundCloud, Rezz is treating the fans to a haunting rework of one of her earliest creations, “Contorted.” Now officially released via HypnoVizion, the single emerges with a darker and cleaner sound design as Rezz packs the tune with a gritty energy from the start, preserving its raw and unfiltered energy. Day-one fans will be delighted to hear this reimagined version, which is unmistakably Rezz —a reminder of where it all began.
Few tracks have held as much weight as “Contorted.” Over the years, it has grown into a staple addition in Rezz’s set and has become a key part of her show. Last month, the single stole the spotlight at her sold-out new audio-visual show PORTAL, which debuted to a packed house in the Bay Area. Captivating visuals moved in sync with the track’s hypnotic rhythms, elevating the performance to new heights and immersing the audience in a full sensory experience. That was a standout moment that hit the crowd harder than ever, reminding them why “Contorted” has always been a showstopper.
“This is a remake of an old song that only all the OG fans would know existed!” Rezz shared. “This was a staple in my sets and never got a full release. This version is revamped and soooo much sharper! This song is part of a bigger future project, but I wanted to give this to the fans ASAP.”
Coming up, Rezz has a packed summer schedule, including her return to The Brooklyn Mirage and festival appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Shambhala, Elements, and more. Fans can also expect to catch “Contorted” in all its full glory at the next chapter of PORTAL, which makes it return to the Tacoma Dome in September before landing at the iconic Red Rocks for REZZ ROCKS VII this fall.
