Cozy Kev, a Chicago-based bass DJ/producer on the rise, debuts his LET ME BREATHE EP via iconic underground bass collective Wubaholics.

Chicago-based bass music producer Cozy Kev has given the audience a breath of fresh air with the release of his EP, LET ME BREATHE. The single from the EP, “GET DOWN,” dropped a week earlier. This release initiates Cozy Kev into the hallowed, virtual halls of the underground Florida-based bass music collective, Wubaholics.

LET ME BREATHE consists of four tracks that blend a warmly nostalgic sound with heavy, club-friendly energy. The title track leads with a simplistic yet emotive groove, while “MAKE ME FEEL HIGH” utilizes driving, repetitive samples to evoke a more lustful, playful side.

Commenting on the mood behind LET ME BREATHE, Cozy Kev shared, “With this project, I really wanted to merge classic bass sounds with something a little more forward thinking. It’s still dance music at its core, but I wanted to give it more emotional depth and an introspective feel.”

Cozy Kev cultivates a sound that draws from a plurality of sub-genres, from hard-hitting dubstep to melodic trap and UK garage. Well on the rise, he has collaborated with bass music event tastemakers like Brownies & Lemonade and Collectiv. Cozy Kev continues to hone his style and sets by experimenting on the dance floor and in the studio.

His tracks have received support from highly-regarded touring artists as Troyboi, Peekaboo, and Levity. Last summer, he even shared the stage with LYNY at Electric Forest, where he got to spin an unreleased tune as the crowd went wild. Additionally, in February, Cozy Kev made his headliner debut show at Chicago’s Ramova Theatre, with support from Spicy Bois.

Listen to LET ME BREATHE on your favorite streaming platform, and stay plugged into his socials to find out where he’s headed next.
