After first teasing their collaboration with Alicia Keys nearly two years ago, Swedish House Mafia has officially released “Finally” for the world to hear.
Swedish House Mafia returned to the forefront of the scene just a few years ago, and it’s been quite a ride for fans of the beloved trio. Their Paradise Again album, filled with tracks that defined the trio’s new sonic direction, was met with mixed reviews. But since that release and the global tour paired with it, Swedish House Mafia has found their footing once again with stunning tunes. Now, they’ve dropped their latest anticipated single, “Finally,” with iconic singer-songwriter Alicia Keys.
“Finally” was first heard in its earliest form during the Paradise Again album tour in 2022, but much akin to other recent releases from Swedish House Mafia, it was locked away as they continued to hone the track in the studio. A new version began to surface earlier this year as the trio took the stage and was prominently heard during their sets at Tomorrowland and Ushuaïa Ibiza.
Alicia Keys’ soulful vocals are front and center on “Finally” from the jump as Swedish House Mafia begins to layer in soft piano notes that grow with power as the seconds begin to tick away. The lyrics harken back to an era of classic house but are juxtaposed with a modern beat, including an energetic drop that will surely get your feet moving.
This is yet another larger-than-life track from Swedish House Mafia. It follows the ever-cinematic “Ray Of Solar” in 2023 and “Lioness,” which arrived earlier this year and saw them team up with Niki & The Dove, giving fans hope that another album is coming.
