Bass Music IDchart 006: New Hits From Teffa, Pola & Bryson, Eptic, and More

in New Releases

Last week’s hottest in bass music came from Teffa, Gardna, Pola & Bryson, Morning High, Eptic, and Caspa.

With the arrival of March, many bass music fans reminisced on what would have been Okeechobee Festival weekend as the event took a notable hiatus year for 2024. Keeping everyone’s spirits high, however, festival lineups like Secret Dreams and NSW Presents‘ Solar Tide Festival were revealed last week with more than enough incredible bass music in tow.

This past week also saw some amazing releases from favorites in the bass scene including Caspa, Eptic, Teffa, and more. We’ve narrowed down five standout favorites that bass lovers have been rinsing and repeating from the final week of February.

As always, the bass music IDchart series is your go-to place for releases you might have missed each week. Be sure to check back every Tuesday for the latest cuts from dubstep to downtempo, drum and bass, and beyond.

Keep reading for more information on five fresh tracks that dropped this week, and listen to more bass music curations on EDM Identity’s Colossal Commotion and Drum & Bass Delights playlists for the latest tracks updated weekly.

Bass Music IDchart #006 – February 26-March 3, 2024

Teffa – Sputnik

If you’re searching for some of the most unique and detail-oriented sound designs in bass music, look no further than Leeds-based Teffa. The talent holds releases on almost every major international bass label you can imagine, from Duploc and Infernal Sounds to Foundation Audio, LDH Records, and White Peach Records.

While this wasn’t Teffa’s only killer release last week, this low-end heavy-hitting single via Sound in Picture hits the spot. “Sputnik” reels in any bass fan with ease with details and grooves amidst its stripped-down dubstep beat.

Gardna and Pola & Bryson – Down Low

This week’s drum and bass delight comes from none other than renowned UK imprint Shogun Audio. Gardna teamed up with Pola & Bryson for a fun and fresh new single called “Down Low.”

Happy piano notes open the track before Gardna’s vocal hook kicks off the beat in classic UK fast-rhyme style. It’s not long before Pola & Bryson whisk the listener away with a catchy dnb drop that fits perfectly with the intertwined lyrics.

Morning High – Shadow Systems

Denver-based rising artist Morning High hit a major milestone this week with his debut release on Duploc’s BLXCK TXPES. After hearing his tunes, it’s easy to understand why this blossoming producer has been gaining support as of late from the likes of Ternion Sound, Juan Forte, Honey & Bass, and Deep Tempo 140.

“Shadow Systems” is the opening track on Morning High’s four-track EP with the respected Belgian imprint. While the entire release is golden for lovers of the lurking 140 tempo, the first track demands the listener to stick around for the rest.

Eptic – Cyberhell

The bass chart couldn’t be complete without a feature for the headbangers. Last week’s new dubstep single from Eptic was released via Create Music Group and features punchy, headbanging drops in classic Eptic style.

The artwork fits with the theme of the track name, “Cyberhell,” and Eptic conveys a cyber-evil aesthetic in the soundscape to match.

Caspa and Dynamite MC – Silly

There’s no doubt Caspa fans have been waiting very patiently for this one. Teased as an ID in his sets for over a year now and declared by Caspa himself to be one of the deadliest beats in his vault, “Silly” is a sound-system shaker through and through.

Dynamite MC contributes a serving of satisfying grime vocals that complete Caspa’s heavy-hitting 140 beat with a repeating hook and rhymes to follow. If you’re like us and can’t get enough of the dubstep on its own, the release also includes an instrumental version without the vocals so you can run it back over and over again.
