Adam Beyer, KOROLOVA, Andreas Henneberg, Habitatt, and Matroda delivered house and techno heaters during the week of January 29!
As we hibernate from the winter nip, new house and techno tunes have been pummeling the scene like a blizzard. After sifting through them, we latched onto a handful of tracks that hold the power to heat dance floors straight through the next season. More on that in a moment.
But first, music isn’t the only thing providing comfort from the cold. On the event front, Mau P announced his residency at XS Nightclub in Las Vegas, Awakenings unveiled the lineup for their brand-new festival, Upclose, and we got our hands on the phase two lineup for CRSSD Spring. In addition, Malóne launched his new label WHYNOTUS while Joyhauser teased the coming of their MEMORO imprint.
That is just a little glimpse, so before you head off to explore all the electric news, let’s dig into the house and techno releases that have us sprinting for the lasers and lights. This week’s selection highlights Adam Beyer, KOROLOVA and MotherEarth, Andreas Henneberg and Marbs, Habitatt, and Matroda.

Adam Beyer – “Let’s Begin”
It’s only appropriate that we kick off the list with “Let’s Begin” by the Drumcode king, Adam Beyer. We plucked this track from his latest EP, which also includes the late night bangers “Computerized” and “Red Room.” The title track delivers the most razzle dazzle of the lot, featuring a deranged vocal tone, slammin’ bassline, and erratic top-end details to keep listeners on their toes.
What makes this release rise from the ranks is its nostalgic credentials. It was designed with the ’90s in mind — an era when techno was bubbling up from the underground, culminating in the launch of arguably the biggest techno label on the planet. To this day, Drumcode continues to be a beacon for ravers around the world, and “Let’s Begin” lights the way for the future!
KOROLOVA, MotherEarth – “Nightshapes” ft. Tyoz
When it comes to the collaboration game, Captive Soul pioneer KOROLOVA and MotherEarth are a match made in melodic heaven. This year promises to be the start of something massive for the latter, as he’s ready to unleash a decade’s worth of production experience on the world. “Nightshapes” is his second official offering, while Kyiv-based KOROLOVA has already achieved global dominance.
With Tyoz lending his premium vocals, the track expands into form. Within its borders, listeners come in contact with heavy synths and a lumbering bassline, two indispensable elements in the melodic techno universe. Want more? “Nightshapes” comes with a special remix by Brazilian beat maker Bigfett, who inserts a rugged electro punch.
Andreas Henneberg, Marbs – “Waiting for the Sunshine“
Andreas Henneberg and Marbs have cultivated their collaborative bond for quite some time now. Not only did they bring the trippy “Delos” into the world, but travel back to 2020 and you’ll uncover the SNOE boss’ haunting rendition of Marbs’ “Beyond The Wall.” In 2024, the boys are back together and “Waiting for the Sunshine.”
As the title suggests, the latest Desert Hearts Black offering is made for the moment just before daylight, when the brain is drunk on euphoria and debauchery is at an all-time high. It seems as if the shadow-soaked sonic details would contradict the light and groovy vocal clip, but considering the inspiration, it all makes perfect sense.
Habitatt – “Fly With Me”
If the world wasn’t familiar with Habitatt, they certainly are now! The project consists of DJ and producer Max Styler and his close friend Spencer Howard, of Major League Baseball fame. Together, they hit the ground running with See on Nora En Pure‘s Purified Records, and they’ve followed it up with “Fly With Me,” a gorgeous offering that’s settling in on John Summit‘s Experts Only.
Press play and the track flings you straight through the clouds, featuring steamy vocals, strobing tones, gravity-defying synth details, and festive percussion to keep the spirit soaring. While Max Styler has already chiseled his name in house history, these two are going to shoot straight to the top if they continue to unleash beats with as much magic as “Fly With Me.”
Tiga, Audion – “Let’s Go Dancing” (Matroda Remix)
Our final nod goes to tech house master Matroda. He just delivered a body-rocking remix of the decade-old yet timeless “Let’s Go Dancing” by Tiga and Audion. From the sounds of it, this one’s gonna keep the dancefloor packed for a decade to come!
In this track available via Insomniac Records, Matroda holds on tight to the iconic vocal but takes the eccentric sound palette for a dive into the underworld. Heavy synths and flashy percussion get the job done, and he tops it off with a reverberating rise to inspire some fresh dance moves. Take those dance moves with you when you catch Matroda during his Miami Music Week showcase at The Ground at Club Space on Wednesday, March 20!
