Walker & Royce Announce Incoming Album With ‘No Big Deal (Part 1)’

Walker & Royce have a new album arriving in 2024 on Dirtybird Records. Their latest EP offers a sneak peek!

House music staples Walker & Royce have just hit the road on their most expansive tour to date, dubbed No Big Deal. But what they make out to be no big deal has just turned into a ridiculously big deal with the announcement of their sophomore album arriving next year! While they haven’t dropped the release date just yet, the guys have graciously offered up four tunes to ease the hunger.

No Big Deal (Part 1) is out now on Dirtybird Records. It features a slew of collaborators who’ve joined in on the fun, including hip-hop aficionado Harm Franklin, vocalist Barney Bones, comedic musician Reggie Watts, electronic duo Glass Petals, and electro-pop producer/singer/songwriter Elohim. What has come out of their studio sessions is sure to get the wallflowers shuffling as the party is turned inside out!

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights, beginning with “Let’s Live It Up.” The song stays true to its namesake, as Harm Franklin directs listeners to drop what they’re doing and shake their tailfeathers like no one’s watching. From the first beat to the very last, expect your body to be quenched with the edgy energy and outside-the-box sound design we’ve come to expect out of the Dirtybird catalog.

With excitement coming in hot, “Cheap Thrills” arrives to send the brain into complete chaos. A jarring, rhythmic beep gets listeners busting out their best robot moves as Barney Bones’ saucy vocal attitude kicks off a singalong session.

From here, we “Get Down Down” on the dancefloor with Reggie Watts stepping in as the ringleader. This track is oddly sexy and intoxicatingly dark. It’s the perfect weapon for those late-night hours when all inhibitions are chucked away.

Last, but certainly not least, is the five-producer group affair that is sure to “Stop Time.” Walker & Royce, Glass Petals, and Elohim have designed a hellishly brooding track that literally halts the dancefloor on the breakdown before dropping into a twisted outro that’ll leave the masses shook.

When looking back at these four insane offerings, it’s easy to deduce that the full album is primed to match, if not exceed, the popularity and dancefloor effectiveness of Walker & Royce’s debut LP, Self Help. We simply can’t wait to get our ears on the rest!

While you prepare to catch Walker & Royce on tour, make sure you have the proper tunes for pregaming by grabbing your copy of No Big Deal (Part 1) on your favorite music platform. Stream the EP on Spotify and let us know what you think of the tunes on X (formerly Twitter)!
