Paul van Dyk and DJ Pierre Top Off ‘ACID TRAXXX’

Following the early release of ACID TRAXXX‘s lead single, Paul van Dyk and DJ Pierre circle back with two more tunes!

What happens when you put a German trance legend and a Chicago acid house pioneer together in the studio? The result is ACID TRAXXX, a three-track face melter from the brilliant minds of Paul van Dyk and DJ Pierre.

You’ll notice the name Phuture lingering within the tracklist as well. This is one of the many monikers of DJ Pierre, based on the acid house group he formed in 1987 with friends Herb J and the late DJ Spank-Spank. Today, he brings their old-school vibe fully into the future.

Out now on Paul’s sub-label, VANDIT Alternative, the unveiling of ACID TRAXXX began one week ago with the arrival of its euphorically spicy title track. Paul van Dyk has been incredibly excited about the collaboration. “Working with DJ Pierre has been a dream come true,” he said. “He’s a founding member of this music as we know it and revolutionized electronic music with his innovative use of the Roland TB-303. We wanted to create a track that pays homage to the roots of electronic music while pushing boundaries and taking listeners on a sonic journey.”

The duo hit a bullseye with that vision, and they continue to meet the mark with follow-up tracks “PHUTURE ACiD!” and “FILTHY ACID.” The former sees DJ Pierre riding solo; he’s delivered a bangin’ groove that slices through the ears and tickles the feet to life. Paul van Dyk steps up for his solo mission on the latter, pulling listeners deep into the after hours with a guttural pump and a haunting vocal byte. Throughout the entire package, the sensory, stimulating acid lines remain unrelentingly loyal and diabolically strong.

Now that the full package has arrived, the celebrations are in full effect as Paul van Dyk and DJ Pierre are taking over the “Evolution Of Electronic Music” panel at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) later today. Tomorrow, October 21, they’ll deliver a massive open-to-close, genre-bending VENTURE X set at Melkweg in Amsterdam.

If you haven’t already, grab your tickets. If you’re over here on the other side of the planet, you can still submerge yourself in the rave by pressing play on ACID TRAXXX while heading to Paul van Dyk’s website to check out his forthcoming US tour dates.
