IMANU Creates a Sonic ‘Paradise’ for Listeners on Latest Album

IMANU provides another memorable escape within his soundscapes on Paradise. It’s out now on Deadbeats!

IMANU is steadily redefining genre expectations, arguably making him one of the top trailblazers of the electronic dance music scene. He is no stranger to experimenting with his sound design, landing him collaborations with legends like NOISIA, Zeds Dead, and What So Not, just to name a few. On top of his unreal musical talent, the artist also has a sustainable clothing line, 14SAINTDENIS, bringing his out-of-the-box thought process to the world of fashion as well.

Taking the scene by storm over the last few years, IMANU broke through after making his b2b appearance with Buunshin at Porter Robinson‘s digital festival, Secret Sky. After that, he buckled down during the pandemic and honed his craft to deliver his debut album, Unfold. Fans ate up the melodic side he shared on Unfold, and the anticipation of what lane he would choose on his next project has loomed in everyone’s mind. Today, IMANU puts the curiosity to rest as he’s unveiled his latest EP, Paradise.

Celebrating the milestone of yet another mind-blowing body of work, IMANU curated a Paradise release party at Amsterdam‘s iconic Melkweg. Fans can catch Buunshin, LaMeduza, Sicaria, The Caracal Project, The Glitch Mob, and Visages to add even more excitement to an already massive milestone. Those who can’t make the release party can set aside time to fall into the sonic world of IMANU’s beautifully chaotic mind and hear the effort for themselves.

Join IMANU for one last escape to Paradise before the dead of winter begins.

The powerful “Aching (On A High)” with lia is the perfect intro track to the EP. Emotional vocals over a brooding and dark beat are IMANU’s specialty, and he knocked it out of the park once again. A collaboration with Zeds Dead and KUCKA, “Rush” brings listeners a feel-good house beat. There is plenty of opportunity for gleeful movement within this track’s runtime.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, heartache courses throughout the messages held within “Of Two Minds” with Rhode. You can clearly sense the weight of each word spoken as the song catapults into an increased tempo wrapped with breakbeats. “Dream Sequence“ takes a turn into electrifying airwaves with the help of The Glitch Mob. Low and high-end robotic rumbles can be heard at each turn, leading listeners to sonic avenues less traveled.

Next, “Fingertips” brings its focus to a downtempo haven. Angelic vocals from Sky’m spin a dangerous love story in which it’s worth risking it all. YAANO, VISLA, and Tudor then help listeners breathe a sigh of relief as the reassuring lyrics of “Life Like This” meet with energizing drum and bass soundscapes sure to lift anyone’s spirits.

Toward the end of the EP, “The Blade” still has a point to prove. Static-filled, staggering beats pull you in every direction humanly possible. Feel the battle of light and dark take place in front of your eyes in real-time as this track plays tug-of-war with you every chance it gets.

That brings us to the finale, “Eind (Outro).” Winding us down from our exploration through genres, this track provides an easily palatable destination, allowing the mind to absorb all that has been laid before it. From beginning to end, Paradise creates mind-expanding opportunities for anyone that is willing to wander its path.
