Dillon Francis Gears Up for Long-Awaited Sequel to Iconic Album

Grant Gilmore by Grant Gilmore

in New Releases

Dillon Francis has finally put the finishing touches on This Mixtape Is Fire, TOO, and it’s due to arrive just in time for the holiday season.

Whatever Dillon Francis has seemingly turned to gold since he first emerged on the scene over a decade ago. From hit albums like Money Sucks, Friends Rule and his legendary performances at festivals like Coachella to his antics on social media and battle with DJ Hanzel, there’s been nothing stopping his path of domination. Turn back the clock to 2015, and you’ll find one of Dillon Francis’ most beloved releases, This Mixtape Is Fire, which helped propel him to the top of the scene. Fans have yearned for the follow-up to this album for years, and now he’s set to gift them with its official sequel.

Riding the wave of announcements that included a three-night run of shows in Los Angeles, Dillon Francis has revealed the official details for This Mixtape Is Fire, TOO. The album is set to land on December 1 and features 14 tracks in total, some of which have surfaced over the past year. This includes his hit track “Don’t Let Me Let Go,” a massive collaboration that saw Dillon Francis team up with ILLENIUM and EVAN GIIA. Other recent tunes, such as “Goodies,” “Pretty People” with INJI, “LA On Acid” with Good Times Ahead, “Free” with Alesso and Clementine Douglas, and “buttons!” with Knock2, will also find a home on the album.

While much of This Mixtape Is Fire, TOO is still yet to be revealed, Dillon Francis dropped off a new juicy track with Arden Jones, “I’m My Only Friend.” The tune begins with its vocals leading the way before building into a drop fit for any festival mainstage with layers of trance-inspired synths and an energetic bassline that will fill you with energy. Paired with the release is a music video that provides another dimension to the track with its story that stars none other than Billy Zane of Titanic and Back To The Future fame.

I’ve been working on this album for way too fucking long, but I’m so happy to finally share it with everyone. It turned out better than I could have ever imagined. The whole goal of this album was to make amazing songs with artists I love and respect. From Alesso to ILLENIUM to Knock2 and more, this album is full of that. Just like the first This Mixtape Is Fire, well, This Mixtape Is Fire, TOO. I hope you enjoy the new single with Arden Jones with those classic Dillon feel-good melodies and get ready for the rest to come.
