Matoma is preparing a fresh sound for fans on his forthcoming album, Love For The Beat, and he’s giving us a taste with its lead single!
It’s been five years since platinum-certified producer Matoma released his debut album, One In A Million, featuring a mainstage-worthy platter of hits that kept fans happily strapped to the dancefloor. His unshakable passion for dance music has once again inspired him to push beyond his limits, and the Norwegian is just about ready to unleash his next full album. While we wait for Love For The Beat to drop, how about a little sneak peek at its lead single?
“Sodium Sky” has arrived as a captivating collaboration with multi-platinum musician BullySongs. This definitely isn’t the first time these two have brushed elbows, with “Take Me To The Sunshine” alongside SUPER-HI proving their in-studio chemistry. Before releasing “Sodium Sky,” BullySongs expressed tender feelings about the reunion. “It’s great to be working with Matoma again and getting high off his crazy energy,” he said. “We wrote ‘Sodium Sky’ during lockdown, dreaming of better days ahead.”
Better days are ahead for sure — now that we have this feel-good tune pumping through the speakers. It kicks off with a reverberating hum before BullySongs takes over the vocals. His silky smooth voice floats above a techy bassline decorated with a touch of acid flair and breezy melodics, nodding to Matoma‘s club roots while alerting us to his fresh, future-forward sound. This track will, without a doubt, remain a singalong late-night anthem for many moons to come!
