Melodic maestro Franky Wah makes a stunning return to Anjunadeep with his latest release, a three-track EP dubbed, Call My Name.
As a contemporary artist who embodies the thrilling energy of club culture in his music, Franky Wah has a global reputation built on versatility and superlative skills, making him one of the most in-demand artists. Besides launching his imprint, SHÈN Recordings, at the start of last year and dropping his first expansive album, Franky’s ability to craft lush atmospheric textures and intricate harmonies saw him make his mark on Anjunadeep with previous EP releases like Should Have Seen It Coming and Why Not Me.
This time, he returns to the beloved imprint once again with his latest three-track package, the Call My Name EP, to further prove his production prowess in the studio. The title track was first heard earlier this month as the first single from the EP to drop and combined luscious synths with warm lead vocals courtesy of Rae Morris. This intoxicating production has profound emotional depth as the melodic repetition of the words “Call My Name” casts an enchanting spell to induce a dreamlike state.
Next, “Alone” emerges with an alluring tapestry of melodies and driving breakbeats. Franky Wah balances dancefloor-ready and downtempo moods in this track as he constructs a soundscape guaranteed to set every listener grooving in its irresistible rhythm. With a pulsing bassline that sets forth a rhythmic foundation, listeners are lured into an ethereal realm of imagination and introspection with each oscillating beat. The final track, “Are You Down,” wastes no time and easily keeps you hooked. Guided by the rhythmic cadence of its percussion, the infectious feel-good energy throughout its entirety evokes an ethereal sensation that whisks the listeners away to a captivating universe meticulously crafted by Franky Wah.
Franky Wah is poised to take the stage at Anjunadeep Open Air London at Finsbury Park on August 13 with a special appearance by guest vocalist Rae Morris to perform a live rendition of “Call My Name.” Thereafter, the much-adored DJ is due for a jam-packed schedule encompassing more than 40 dates, including his inaugural residency at Club Chinois in Ibiza and other major festivals such as EDC Orlando, Tomorrowland Brasil, and Electric Zoo.
