RÜFÜS DU SOL’s imprint debuts a new series with Rose Avenue Compilation, Vol. 1, featuring Modern Tales, HWIN, Colyn, and more!

RÜFÜS DU SOL dreamt up Rose Avenue Records in order to push the industry’s greatest minds past their boundaries and lift blossoming talent to the next level. It was only a matter of time before their first VA compilation would arrive. This past weekend, Rose Avenue Compilation, Vol. 1 officially emerged with a collection of beats that will make the dancefloor a more exciting space for all.

Among the ten-track spread, you’ll notice familiar Rose Avenue names like the duo Modern Tales, who make it a production party with Jonas Rathsman and Francis Novotny. You’ll also land on regular Luke Alessi, who made his Rose Avenue debut just last year, as well as Colyn, who has multiple Rose Avenue releases under his belt. There’s also Township Rebellion, a duo that has come back around with “Fantasia on a Theme,” inviting Victor Pilava and Roemischto to help bring the fantasy to life.

Among the solid handful of artists brand new to the imprint are Enamour, Julya Karma, Bigfett, Arodes, HWIN, and Sainte Vie. The offerings presented by this eclectic group of talent include some shiny gems. Take HWIN, for example. He steps away from his duties as one-half of Cathedrals to dive headfirst into his new melodic techno project. The producer’s eccentric modular experiment called “Metropolis Heights” sets the tone for a promising future, inspired after he moved to Brooklyn and came face to face with the sound design of roommate and executive producer Doug Desmond.

Other tracks to note are “Body Test” by Enamour and “Continuum” by Bigfett. These stood out for their raging, transcendental energy, striking enough to unify the dancefloor in undulating movement. The former is decorated with trance-inducing vocals offset by melodies that marry organic, festive tones with rave-ready acid lines. The latter keeps listeners rapt with a late-night attitude, featuring a rolling and rattling high-end, chopped-up, angelic vocal expressions and a rise that will send you to the moon.

With this first taste, it’s safe to say that Rose Avenue is off to a great start. After hearing this compilation, we simply can’t wait to see who they call on next. Maria Clinton

Maria first fell in love with electronic music in the early 2000's when she heard a little tune called "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi. Since then she has dived headfirst into the scene and is wildly passionate about the trance, techno, and house genres. Festival's like EDC, Dreamstate, and Dirtybird Campout hold the key to her soul and dance music will always and forever be a major part of her life.
