UK-based dubstep label Infernal Sounds welcomes Teffa to the imprint with his latest four-track EP, My Own Blues.

With over a decade of producing under his belt, the Leeds-based dubstep virtuoso Teffa has remained in the shadows to many American fans despite being hugely influential to many of our favorite artists. Chances are high that Teffa is one of your favorite’s favorites, as his consistency and originality shine in every release. While he’s kept a low profile over the years regarding promoting, social media, and playing shows, it’s hard to stay lurking for long when the music is too good for people not to catch on.

Teffa has made stops at past editions of Infrasound, Deep Roots Festival, and Outlook Festival. Not to mention that Denver residents were lucky to catch a rare US appearance from him recently at The Black Box with Chad Dubz for his Foundation Audio takeover. With tons of releases on plenty of top UK labels, from White Peach Records to LDH, Teffa’s Infernal Sounds debut seems long overdue as the imprint is home to some of the hottest tunes in 140 dubstep.

His debut with the label has landed as a four-track EP, My Own Blues, and it encompasses everything there is to love about Teffa’s unique production style. The title track kicks off the project with his signature, classic-rave-influenced flavor of dubstep and jazzy flair. Foghorns echo throughout the airy head-nodding tune as it flows and builds for a catchy and digestible opening track.

The second offering, “No Need,” introduces a chilling aura to My Own Blues with its haunting intro and heavy, sultry basslines. Deep distortions and echoing vocal stabs compliment the circling drums as the track slowly builds in intensity before another lighter breath of fresh air on “Calculations.” With dream-like percussion that leans towards a unique techno-dub sound, you’ll still hear the occasional satisfying distortions thrown into the mix as Teffa shows off his unrivaled skill for blending various musical influences.

The final track closes out My Own Blues with a statement as an unsuspecting introduction divulges into system-shaking classic dubstep, complete with reggae vocal elements on “Think About It.” Teffa flaunts his unmatched attention to detail once again with teetering basslines that rise and fall amongst a spacious, echoing soundscape for an addicting 140 beat undoubtedly fit for Infernal Sounds.

My Own Blues is out everywhere now, so be sure to head to Spotify or your preferred platform to add this gem of a release to your queue.
