Aluna has unleashed MYCELiUM, featuring an uber-talented cast of collaborators including Route94, TSHA, Chris Lake, MK, and more!

Award-winning dance music producer Aluna, of AlunaGeorge fame, has been having a phenomenal year. Not only has she unleashed “Beggin” alongside Chris Lake, which is arguably one of the best house anthems to emerge in 2023, but she brought the house down at Coachella and Electric Forest, all the while teasing fans with offerings off of her brand new album, MYCELiUM, out now on Mad Decent. This marks Aluna’s second artist LP, following the 2020 appearance of Renaissance.

Forever dedicated to her community, Aluna has once again opened her arms and tapped into the expertise of Black and LGBTQ+ creators and allies alike. In fact, “Oh The Glamour” is a prime example of inspiration meeting realization, with Aluna noting that “Black and LGBTQ+ people go through a lot of shit, but we often present ourselves as glamorous… Glamour can often be a method to break free, celebrate, and thrive.” While the aforementioned and a handful of other tracks have already seen the light of day, like “Kiss It Better” alongside MK and “Killing Me” with TSHA, there are still a plethora of new highlights.

For example, you’ll be convinced to dive into your dancing shoes when faced with the fresh and funky energy of “Underwater” featuring Route94 or the pop-inspired party starter called “Supernova,” that The Picard Brothers and Kaleena Zanders helped blast to life. In addition, if you simply wish to bask in the groove, then run, don’t walk, to “Running Blind” with Tchami and Kareen Lomax. If you’re feeling that deep in your soul and want to nestle even further into the groove, then the sweet sounds of “Sugar” with Preditah and Lauren Faith are meant for you.

Keeping in step with Aluna’s unrelenting imagination, she inserts something dark and feverish into the fray, calling on Walker & Royce to toy with the sounds of “Playin Wit Ya.” Aluna even takes it solo for a spell, spilling out all of herself within the subtle spark of “The Way I’m Wired.” Furthermore, the package comes tied together with a whimsically organic intro called “Before The Bloom” and a romantically cheeky “Love & Money” interlude before closing the show with Kooldrink, who focuses on the “Future” with a chilled-out sizzling soundscape.

MYCELiUM boasts an expansive sound catalog that celebrates timeless 90s dance music nostalgia with a modern facelift. So go on and explore for yourself. Listen to the album on your favorite music platform, and grab your tickets to catch Aluna on tour! Don’t forget to let us know what you think of the tunes on Twitter!
