SubMarine takes listeners “Back Then” with the lead single off his forthcoming XIII EP that’s due out on April 5 via 1985 Music.
When 1985 Music starts cooking up music, the global drum and bass community listens – and the label just announced it has been cooking up a storm in the form of a new EP from German DJ and producer SubMarine. Known for his deep, dark rollers in the drum and bass realm, his tracks have been played out by 1985 Music label head and legendary producer himself Alix Perez since his earliest releases. Now, the pioneering imprint continues to support Submarine’s flourishing talent in this space.
Intriguingly titled XIII, the release, which is due out on April 5, will be a four-track project that revisits the world-class producer’s growling drum and bass soundscapes. To whet our appetites, SubMarine released the lead single off the EP, “Back Then” – a gritty tune that encompasses the artist’s signature style. You’ll find yourself hypnotized by the punchy percussion and vocal sample from the jump before you’re drawn further into this immersive soundscape that’s filled with classic elements that will take you back to the past.
This track has the nostalgia of my first drum and bass nights back then. An absolute club tune that should make you rave like me – back then.SubMarine
