Hypho and MYTHM’s ‘Questions’ is the Collaboration Dubstep Fans Needed

Dubstep artists Hypho and MYTHM join forces for the five-track Questions EP – out now via Duploc’s sister label, Blxck Txpes.

Rising dubstep star MYTHM saw a huge year of show and festival bookings in 2022, while UK-based artist Hypho fought to secure that precious US visa while releasing tunes that included a huge collaboration with Ternion Sound and staying busy with his label, Manuka Records. During this time, they also dropped their first-ever collaboration, “The Plug,” on Encrypted Audio, which left fans hoping for more from these two artists, and now they’ve delivered just that in 2023.

MYTHM kicked off the year by dropping Brutalist on Deadbeats, and Hypho stunned with Dingle Bat on Deep, Dark & Dangerous – and now the two have teamed up for the release of the five-track Questions EP. This release isn’t just these two artists’ first EP together but also doubles as the first-ever release on Blxck Txpes, the brand-new sister label of the prestigious Belgian dubstep label Duploc, which had previously featured tunes from both producers over the years.

With five heavy-hitting tracks in the signature 140 dubstep style that Hypho and MYTHM are both known for, their sounds coming together in this project make for a perfect match made in bass music heaven. The pair starts the Questions EP with “Blud Red,” a high-energy beat with sharp quivering distortions to make for a classic-sounding dubstep heater. The project’s title track follows with a wobbling beat and a deep sinister bassline in tow to continue the ride into the depths of madness.

“Stress” boasts striking low-end bass that captivates listeners effortlessly as it lurks along as MYTHM’s sword slice samples can be heard throughout to complete the dark vibe. UK rap plays in full force for the next track, “Shatta,” as the two bring Logan into the mix on vocals. The stripped-back beat is led by the lyrics for a tasteful switch-up on this one to make it stand tall. Then, “Gunahngi” completes the Questions EP with a truly sickening sound and is the only track to clock in at a tremoring 105 BPM for a perfect change of pace to wrap things up in style.

The Questions EP is out everywhere now, so be sure to head over to Spotify or your preferred platform to give this heat a proper listen.
