Cosmic Gate dropped by for a dive into their highly anticipated MOSAIIK Chapter Two world premiere at Es Vedrà isle in Ibiza!
The excitement surrounding legendary trance duo Cosmic Gate has reached a fever pitch as the world braces for the release of MOSAIIK Chapter Two. It’s been a long time coming since the first installment shot listeners straight to the stars in 2021, and this month, the cosmic cat was let out of the bag with the announcement of Chapter Two‘s March 3 arrival.
Of course, the guys have been gracious enough to give the world a taste of what’s to come with a few previously released stunners like “Hear Me Out” with Diana Miro and “Follow You Anywhere” with Nathan Nicholson, but the teasing simply does not end there! Firstly, they’ve been setting a MOSAIIK tone out on the road at hot spots like Temple in Denver and Marquee in NYC, and now they have something even bigger in the works!
If you dream back to August 18, 2021, there’s no doubt that visions of Cosmic Gate atop a roof in the Big Apple will begin to prance through the mind. It was here that they premiered MOSAIIK, one of their greatest albums to date, and in true fashion, the guys are bringing the same vibes to MOSAIIK Chapter Two. Only this time, they’re heading to the lush party-forward island of Ibiza at Es Vedrà isle.
The two-hour premiere kicks off on February 15, at 6 PM CET/12 PM EST/9 AM PST via YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch. Viewers can expect to be whisked away to the edge of the universe, under the guidance of gorgeous melodies, emotion-soaked vocals, and pulse pumping basslines. In the lead-up, we got together with Cosmic Gate to have a quick chat about everything involved in making this stream come to life so, kick back, relax, and continue on to get an inside look at what’s to come!

Hello! It’s our pleasure, thanks for having us!
MOSAIIK Chapter One was premiered on top of a roof in NYC and now you’re heading to Ibiza to unleash MOSAIIK Chapter Two. Talk to us about your process in searching out unique streaming locations.
Well, in a word “unique,” that’s it, in a nutshell. This is the hardest part of a stream. Finding and getting access to somewhere unique. The rest is fitting it with the music and vibe, and capturing it all through several cameras and drones. That way you can take people on a journey, both musical and visual. This was the primary goal when we started these streams, pretty much when the pandemic began. And it remains so to this day. We were blessed, living in Miami and NYC to have these stunning locations on our front doors, and to share a good time with our friends around the globe that might not have been as fortunate. We are more than happy about the massive feedback, love, and views they received.
What makes Es Vedrà isle the perfect backdrop to premiere MOSAIIK Chapter Two?
Ibiza has been one of the spots which have been most influential for us in our career, but also just for hanging out in private. We were coming here since the mid-90s, even before we were working together in Cosmic Gate. We’ve spent numerous vacations on the White Isle too. It’s the experience that keeps on giving! When you spend as much time in Ibiza, of course, you know about Es Vedrà’s history and reputation amongst fans of Ibiza. It’s simply one of the landmarks we feel that is impossible to miss. It’s said the spirit of the island, the special vibe of Ibiza, comes from the extreme magnetic field that originates from Es Vedrà and is the source of the island’s inexplicable and extraordinary energy.
Now that the scene is set, can you open up about everything that goes into making a stream of this caliber come to life?
Well, it might look easy after the stream is done, but there’s quite some work and hustle to get everything organized and prepared for the recording. Location-wise, we were in Europe, and as big fans for so many years we had Ibiza in mind. So as soon as the Island became a lock, after quite some searching and scouting, we were fortunate enough to find this stunning Villa from Michaela and Franz, an amazing couple from Essen in Germany. (We cannot thank them enough for letting us record our set in their beautiful Ibiza Finca).
Then as it was out-of-season, it wasn’t easy to get the DJ equipment, and of course, the director and camera crew had to be found, and everybody’s schedules had to fit, which in the busy industry we work in, sometimes isn’t easy. On top of it all, the weather gods have to be on our side as well. Believe us when we say it wasn’t the first stream we had to be re-performed/recorded, as the weather during the two hours suddenly did not develop in the way we hoped… So overall it’s indeed a lot of work from the whole team. We want to send thanks to everyone who once again made it possible – we hope you guys enjoy it like its predecessors before!
Your NYC MOSAIIK livestream was very intimate with just a few people (I’m assuming friends and team) mingling and enjoying the beats. Will this stream come with the same vibes or are you bringing in a larger live audience? Why or why not?
Yes, the Ibiza stream will have a similar vibe to NYC, in the respect of there being no audience. Though it probably doesn’t need saying, in general, the mood is way more centered on nature though. Whenever it’s possible, we do like to focus on just the vibe, the music, and whatever the location offers. This is something we honestly could not have imagined doing before the pandemic. Without that context, we’d never have known.
When we DJ, we always refer to the crowd as influences in what we do; With the streams, it’s a completely different dynamic. Streams have their own charm – nothing but the music, the scenery, the vibe, and the pace. It’s hard to explain, but it’s almost like the setting becomes part of the audience. As with most things in our life, anything negative, we try to turn into a positive, and that’s what we did here; bringing something new to the people as best as we could, under the circumstances as they were.
Finally, beyond the few singles already circulating, let’s talk about some of the unreleased gems that you’ll be teasing to the world. Is there a particular tune that you’re most excited to share during the stream? If so, can you express the reasons it resonates so deeply with you?
Well, talking about music is always hard, even more about our own. Two tracks we maybe liked to point out are the coming singles from the album. The first is our second collaboration with the so, soooo talented singer-songwriter Nathan Nicholson. This song is called “Just the Beginning.” It’s deep and progressive but full of emotion, definitely different than anything we have done before. Another one is “Emotions of Color,” which is more of a club banger. It was an instant hit in our sets, which got a lot of attention. We can’t wait to share it with you on the stream and hope you guys dig them as much as we do!
