Teknicoz Drop the ‘Keep It’ EP on This Ain’t Bristol

Chicago-based house duo Teknicoz takes their talents to This Ain’t Bristol and offers up some minimal house grooves on the Keep It EP.

As the house scene continues to roll forward with amazing releases each passing week, it’s the artists rising through the ranks who continue to show off some of the most unique twists and turns – and one duo doing just that is Teknicoz. Based out of Chicago, the home of house music, they’ve been churning their way forward with an upward trajectory since first making their mark with tracks like “Drive Thru” and “On It” back in 2018.

Since then, Teknicoz has found a home on labels ranging from Psycho Disco and OKNF Records to House of Bangerz and Dirtybird, while collaborating with artists like Luke Andy, No Messin, and Frivolous Jackson along the way. Now, this duo has set their sights on expanding even further with the release of the Keep It EP on the newly-revamped This Ain’t Bristol.

The EP’s title track “Keep It” opens with some spacy blips before the beat fully takes over. Quick vocal stabs add to the stripped-back nature of its intro that gives way to a break that puts the vocals front and center before diving back into the beat. Additional layers will keep anyone who listens grooving away. Then, “Periquito,” brightens up the atmosphere as a solid b-side. This one delivers some clean tech house rhythms that toy with the mind and drums that will make your booty shake right along with it.

Listen to the Keep It EP on Spotify or your preferred platform, and let us know what you think of these two tracks from Teknicoz in the comments.

Grant Gilmore

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
