DJ Fresh Reignites the Flame of His Classic "Gold Dust" With Remix EP

DJ Fresh commemorates the 10th year anniversary of his dance classic, “Gold Dust”, with a full remix EP, out now on Breakbeat Kaos!

DJ Fresh has been responsible for some of the most iconic dance tunes over the last few decades. His meticulously precise style of drum and bass, paired with his ear for infectious vocals has allowed his songs to transcend time. Tracks like “Louder” and “Gravity” have been remixed, bootlegged, and played at every single festival in some form. Additionally, his label Breakbeat Kaos is responsible for launching the careers of artists such as Pendulum, Sigma, and NERO. Arguably his biggest track, “Gold Dust“, recently hit its 10-year anniversary, and to celebrate he released the Gold Dust (10th Anniversary Remixes) EP.

Out now on Breakbeat Kaos, the Gold Dust (10th Anniversary Remixes) EP is an homage to one of dance music’s most recognizable tunes. DJ Fresh enlisted the help of a wide variety of producers to put their spin on this classic song. Bou & Used kick off the EP by providing their take on the track. Each producer brings their own distinctive flair and as a result, the remix has two distinct drops which keep the listener engaged. Following this up is Martin Hørger’s remix which completely flips the original on its head by providing a bouncy backdrop to the original vocals. You’ll have a hard time sitting down while listening to this one!

Fox Stevenson brings his energetic drum & bass flair for his take on the song, which is full of charged-up synths and immersive drum fills. Additionally, the track wastes no time and gets right into the action from the minute you press play. Coming in hot is the fifth remix which is by Skepsis and he absolutely delivered. This is arguably my favorite remix due to how Skepsis captures the energy from the original track, but completely redesigns the drop and incorporates his signature UK house sound.

Rounding out this massive 10th Anniversary tribute is the Dutty Moonshine Big Band and Krafty Kuts remixes. The Dutty Moonshine remix wins the award for the most creative as they brought in live horns and instruments throughout the entire song, while the Krafty Kuts remix takes it back to the classic UK breaks style to close out this phenomenal remix EP.
