Indonesian bass artist Papa Khan releases a new track on Monstercat and announces his first tour in the US as support for Marauda.
Papa Khan is a one-of-a-kind artist that has caught the attention of the bass scene and quickly captured the hearts of many. While the rising artist has been working for years to craft his sound and perfect his production, he recently took things to the next level in a major way when he made his debut on Monstercat with “The Tide“ late last year. Now, he’s returned to the imprint with the release of a new single called “Never Cared.”
“Never Cared” is a song dedicated to those “who have been betrayed and hurt,” making it the perfect anti-Valentine’s Day bass anthem for anyone who broke free from a toxic relationship. It kicks off with the delicate sounds of caressing wind chimes, gently leading listeners to the vocals that are immaculate and evoke feelings of realization and a refusal to give up. As the song progresses, there’s a hint of the colour bass notes that Papa Khan has become known for while it continues to tug at the heartstrings of anyone who presses play.
This track shows off Papa Khan’s continual improvement within his own production along with his ability to create incredibly emotional music – and he has an extra special treat for those in the US who have been hoping to see him play live. Papa Khan is set to join Maruada and OG Nixin on the Rite of Ascension tour this spring. He’s set to play on the first stop in Spokane on March 24, and will also take the stage in cities including Atlanta, Tempe, Virginia Beach, New York, El Paso, and Madison, among others.
