RYBO Releases Dynamic ‘Survive’ EP on Desert Hearts

Los Angeles-based DJ and producer RYBO is turning heads with the three-track Survive EP that’s out now on Desert Hearts.

Desert Hearts remains a powerhouse in the house and techno scene with its curated showcases and record label churning out beats for their followers to get down and dirty to on the dancefloor. The label celebrated the new year and kept the music going with their latest Family & Friends compilation, and now they continue to highlight the creative spirit of artists by looking to RYBO and his new EP, Survive.

RYBO has been a part of the Desert Hearts family for years and continues to impress fans and tastemakers alike with his releases and appearances at festivals. His discography is littered with unique soundscapes on tracks like “Favela Funk” with Lubelski and “Call U Rite Back” with Anabel Englund that take house and techno into new territories, and the Survive EP continues on with that trend.

The title track kicks off the EP in a vibrant way, immediately energizing your body with its fresh vocals and eccentric drums that are hypnotic. Then, RYBO reminds us to “Say It” with touches of chord delays, a thumping bassline, and shuffling hi-hats that will have your heart struck with love. It’s a tune that will warm your soul as you groove out to the beat, making it perfect for release in the middle of winter. Rounding out this release from RYBO is a remix of “Say It” from Eskuche, which offers up deeper frequencies and a vibe that’s quite simply electric.

Ashley Littlefield

Ashley is a passionate artist from Orange County that loves to escape into Los Angeles to dance any chance she can. Ashley's flair for music started at the young age of six when she received her first Casio keyboard to start her self-discovery through the sound. In High School, she began to learn guitar, write songs, and attended many shows to discover new genres. Her first memory of electronic music is attributed to her parents during a road trip, where her father played Moby in the car. Music helped her grow personally and professionally while studying to earn her Bachelor's of Fine Art degrees in Creative Photography and Illustration at California State University of Fullerton. Jamie xx, Tycho, Ratatat, and Above and Beyond are some of her favorite artists. You can find her in the crowd, grooving, and sharing genuine smiles wherever she goes.
