David Dann Brings Dance Energy to the Forefront on ‘Rediscovered’

David Dann puts a bow on the year as it comes to a close with the release of his five-track EP, Rediscovered.

Two years ago, Mind Of A Genius founder David Dann rediscovered his passion for producing and playing music after years of cultivating artists on the imprint that include everyone from Mindchatter to ZHU. Then, in the midst of the pandemic, the culmination of his creative juices returning led to the release of “You & Me” with NICOLAS. This track helped set the tone for what was to come from the mind of this artist as he began to relaunch his career, and now David Dann has furthered that story with the aptly titled Rediscovered EP.

When I decided to get back to my solo artist project I was nervous – I didn’t know how the world would react and where this journey would take me. The EP really stands for what the last two years have been for me – a rediscovery of why I loved dance music in the first place and a true return to who I am as a creative.

Out now across all platforms, Rediscovered features five tunes from David Dann which also sees him team up with a flurry of talented artists. The previously released single “You & Me” leads the charge on the EP with its late-hour vibes in tow, but soon after you’ll find yourself grooving away to the beat of “Mine.” This tune begins with a mellow intro before building into its piano-laden house beat, and the addition of vocals from Max Cardona takes this one to the next level.

A throbbing bassline arrives when “Precious” enters into the mix and those deeper tones offer up a sense of melodic house and techno heat before golda may‘s sensual vocals take center stage. The way the piano notes and the synths play with each other in this tune is simply sublime.

The next tune, “Down For You,” delivers some loungey goodness to create an atmosphere that brings imagery of a darkened, smoke-filled nightclub along with it. Bright Sparks joins in on this one and you simply can’t help but dance away to its beat. Then, to close out the release, David Dann drops a silky smooth gem in the form of “Falling Into You.” It’s dancey with a touch of pop, but don’t that fool you because the vocals from Nazzereene are filled with emotion to make this one a true standout in the collection.
