Hot off the release of his Photos of the Sun EP, Tails spins a mix that is filled to the brim with tunes that will whisk you away to paradise.
British Columbia-based artist Tails has been making quite a name for himself since first breaking onto the scene in 2015. Over the years he’s impressed with original tunes and remixes, while also working with other standout artists such as Nevve and Pauline Herr along the way. Already catching the ear of tastemakers and labels like Monstercat, his latest body of work, the Photos of the Sun EP, struck a chord with San Holo’s imprint bitbird and found a home on the thriving label.
Out now across all platforms, Photos of the Sun is one of the most ambitious projects from the Canadian producer to date, and it’s safe to say he succeeded in his mission of creating something otherworldly. The EP features six tracks that bring crisp sounds and just the right amount of bass to make them pop. The shimmering melodies found within tunes like “golden youth” will leave listeners feeling uplifted as Tails fills hearts to their maximum potential, while collaborations with artists like Kelland on “tic tac toe” and Iris Penning on “wanderer” help further the emotion-fueled storyline that he crafted for the release.
Now, in the wake of this stunning collection of tunes being released, Tails spun up a mix to showcase his storytelling abilities behind the decks as well. Featuring a flurry of his own originals (and even some IDs!) as well as selects from artists like Rome In Silver, Juelz, and Hudson Mohawke, as well as Hex Cougar, Pauline Herr, and So Sus’ tasty tune “Everything All At Once,” it’s a solid mix to play if you’re looking to get in the groove today.
Listen to the exclusive guest mix on SoundCloud, download or stream Photos of the Sun on your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from Tails as he embarks on the next chapter of his journey.
