Sammy Legs Causes a "Clamtastrophe"

Sammy Legs is heading back to Sacha Robotti’s Slothacid imprint to deliver the freakishly fun, two-track EP, Clamtastrophe!

We’ll never forget how much fun we had listening to Sacha Robotti and Sammy Legs’ collaborative When U Clackin’ EP. Personally, I found myself running to the club, fan in hand, making sure to only clack to the beat as directed by the track. Since then, Sammy Legs grabbed a spot on the Desert Hearts Best Of 2020 and DH Black Best Of 2020, delivered an epic remix for Mntra’s “That’s Hot,” and wowed us with electro swing on “Devil.” It’s now time for Sammy Legs to circle back around to Slothacid and let his freak flag fly with Clamtastrophe!

Hitting the airwaves officially on June 25, you may as well bust out your most comfortable dancing shoes because it’s about to get lit! Lucky for all of us, as a true party connoisseur who studied the nightlife during his stint in Berlin as well as stateside at Icon Music Collective, Sammy Legs wants nothing more than to get the shenanigans popping off early. So while we wait for the official EP release, which includes the B-side dubbed “Rony Tobbins” with Britton, you get the honor of getting a taste of the title track.

Right from the jump, Sammy Legs insists on causing a “Clamtastrophe” with a plethora of warm, bubbly, rotating sound blips. You’ll find it impossible to avoid the vibe as your hips start spinning in tandem with the beat. The deeper into the track, the stranger things get, and suddenly you find yourself in a magical land full of colorful ravers and twisted carnival freaks. This track holds true to the multifaceted nature of Sammy Legs, and as always, he keeps us on our toes until the very end!

Clamtastrophe is a journey through a number of new sonic tricks I’ve fallen in love with in the last couple of years. It’s taken on many different forms since I first wrote it, making people do all sorts of sneaky maneuvers on the dance floor… I’m honored to see this wacky journey land with such a fitting label. There are a number of distinct sections on this one which gives selectors many ways to make it their own. Can’t wait to hear how people twist this story into their own sonic experiences.
