Mikey Lion Launches Us "Above The Clouds" Ahead of New LP

After announcing his debut album For The Love, Mikey Lion quenches anticipation by unveiling the lead single, “Above The Clouds”!

Since materializing nearly a decade ago as a 200-person gathering, Desert Hearts has become a beacon for underground house and techno fans to converge in the quest to celebrate the music that moves the soul. At the forefront of Desert Hearts’ success is Mikey Lion, who has been keeping the DH Fam love-drunk with phenomenal releases, forward-thinking artist curations, mind-blowing live events, and funky fresh livestreams.

Two weeks ago during The Lion’s Den livestream on DHtv, Mikey Lion unveiled that his debut album would finally be on the way! Named For The Love, the music encapsulated within it will be a direct reflection of Mikey Lion’s journey over the past eight years. This album will paint a picture of raw emotional trials and pure artistic growth, while magnifying tender moments of self-discovery unearthed while chasing his dream.

This album has been eight years in the making ever since we threw our very first Desert Hearts party back in 2012. It’s a culmination of everything that I’ve learned, felt, and believed in over the years. The first single, Above The Clouds, is what House Heaven feels like to me. It’s dreamy, it’s powerful, and it makes me feel good.

Unfortunately, the album will not be ready until May 28, 2021, but the Desert Hearts co-founder hasn’t left us hanging until then. Today, he officially released the lead single, “Above The Clouds,” and it’s just what we need to get us stoked for the full package. The floaty melody holds the key to happiness, and the vibey bassline cloaks the spirit with warmth. The emotion that this track emits is both dark and light at the same time, capturing the total essence of house music in perfect fashion.
