Booka Shade Impresses with First EP of 2021, 'Pray'

Dynamic duo Booka Shade continues their hot streak and welcomes the new year with Pray, a two-track EP that’s out now on Blaufield Music.

Throughout their career, Booka Shade has continued to raise the standard of electronic music excellence. Hot off a massive year in the studio, the duo has taken little time off despite being removed from live events since the pandemic began. After sharpening their collaboration skills among Eli & Fur, Jan Blomqvist, and other house icons, 2020 also saw the release of the massively successful EP Blaze of Unity and their latest studio album Dear Future Self, both of which drew global acclaim.

Now, the time has come for the Frankfurt-based duo to enter 2021 with a bang. Out on all platforms, Pray features two new tracks for fans of Booka Shade to immerse themselves in. The title track, “Pray,” delivers a scintillating yet more effervescent side to the typically ominous productions. It provides a warm, uplifting vibe throughout as the synth pads, bubbling bassline, and vocals soften the groove and are sure to have you floating around the room in no time at all.

For only being a short two-track release, these two artists spare no expense when it comes to production quality. Pray delivers its second offering in the form of “Forest of Etta.” Once again, the duo dives back into the darker side of the dance music scene as they lead listeners into the forest where a garden of melodic house and techno delights awaits.

“Forrest of Etta” is pointed by an entrancing synth lead that gives way to a bliss-inducing four on the floor kick drum backed by glimmering horns and well-refined synth stabs. Booka Shade put their attention to detail front and center, along with a well-polished percussion section and mesmerizing synth work to lure listeners into a full-blown euphoria.
