This year has been filled with ups and downs, but Armin van Buuren is helping keep everyone steady with A State Of Trance Year Mix 2020.

Over the past two decades, one of the most consistent releases that fans of Armin van Buuren and A State Of Trance look forward to annually is the A State Of Trance Year Mix. This series means so much to the global community and carries even more importance in 2020 as the pandemic decimated any semblance of normalcy. And this year it has arrived as a reflection of the massive tunes that dominated speakers while also offering itself up as a beacon of hope to showcase that the electronic music scene continues to thrive.

Those swings of emotion that were felt by millions around the world also touched the artists who lead the scene as well. When asked about 2020, Armin van Buuren stated, “It’s been a tough year for everyone. For me personally, it was like a reset I didn’t know I really needed. COVID-19 made me realize how lucky I am to be doing this. I really miss physically connecting with people around the world and I felt a bit lost without the magic of performing for a crowd and experiencing this music together.”

But true to form, he’s continued to churn out episodes of A State Of Trance, further grew labels under Armada Music, and helped keep the world occupied with fresh tunes of his own as well. Now, Armin van Buuren has delivered the latest A State Of Trance Year Mix, and much like previous years it’s filled to the brim with quality tracks that showcase how powerful music truly is.

Featuring over 150 tracks in total, A State Of Trance Year Mix 2020 sees some of the scene’s biggest names and rising stars alike get their time in the spotlight. Side one is filled with tunes from artists including Genix, Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, i_o, Rodg, and Cosmic Gate, while side two packs a punch with Paul Van Dyk, ReOrder, Factor B, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and David Forbes.

I hope that this seventeenth edition of the year mix brings some much-needed light into this year and that it gives everyone something to look forward to as well. The planned celebrations for the ASOT1000 had to be postponed, but we will be doing something special on January 21, the day on which we’ll broadcast the 1000th episode of A State Of Trance. There are a few surprises coming in the next few weeks, so keep an eye on my social media channels.
