Deeper Purpose Wants You to "Push It" Ahead of New EP

He’s an artist from London’s underground scene, dominating the dance floor for over a decade. For the past few years, he has been on a fast track to stardom, releasing glistening works of art that include tracks like “Safari” and “Elevate” and EPs including Rocket and Manipulation. With a knack for developing feel-good tech house beats, he’s turned the heads of industry elite including Lee Foss, Max Chapman, Fisher, and Jamie Jones. Who is the “he” we’re referring to? Deeper Purpose, of course, and on Friday, November 13, he will proudly present his latest work, The Slap.

While we wait patiently for the EP to drop on Noizu’s Techne Records imprint, Deeper Purpose wants us to feel a pregame buzz. So, he has graciously unveiled the B-side for your listening pleasure! The track is called “Push It” and I am going to go ahead and boldly declare that this is a top contender for my favorite release of the year.

So what are some of the stand-out details?

I’m so glad you asked. I looked at the little robot on the album cover and I instantly imagine him busting a move on the dance floor as the mechanical sound blips bring light to my life. Suddenly, an invigorating synth siren knocks me square off my feet, provoking the temperature to rise above the cool bassline kick. The words “push it” flutter consistently in the background.

At this point, it is impossible to feel anything but happy and then a brand new lyric line drops in to add a massive amount of flavor. “It’s Electric!” The vocal makes me giggle as the siren continues to steal the show and I envision our little robot guy popping and locking to his heart’s content. This track is filled with a beautiful hilarity that I find incredibly infectious. I predict a massive reaction to this tune both at the club and on the festival front once shows are back, but until then you can still bust a move in your living room!
