KLOUD Shows Us a Gritty, Cyberpunk World with Second EP

KLOUD weaves dark vocals and textured synths to create gritty, cyberpunk anthems on SYNTHESIZE, his second EP this year.

Enigmatic producer KLOUD has just dropped SYNTHESIZE, a gritty four-track EP filled with cyberpunk anthems boasting a mix of house, techno, and downtempo electronica. Weaving textured soundscapes inspired by analog synths with haunting vocals, this release carries listeners to a dark, cybernetic world.

As his second EP this year, KLOUD shows his continued commitment to using his helmeted character to explore themes of data, AI, and robotics, while still providing club cuts that get bodies everywhere moving. Each track comes together to create a cohesive feeling of victory and angst. For instance, the EP leads with the eponymous “SYNTHESIZE.“ This moody downtempo song features a chilling melody sung by female vocalists from Nevve – a vocal collective that intentionally keeps its memberships’ identities secret.

Following that, we have “NUMB” and “INSANE”, heavy dance floor rhythms that combine elements of techno and bass house. Consequently, these two tracks feel like you’re listening to Rezz meets Justice, meets Valentino Khan. From there, we end with “METAL LUNG”, a cinematic downtempo track reminiscent of The Glitch Mob that sounds like it would be right at home on the next Stranger Things soundtrack.

SYNTHESIZE is the follow on to KLOUD’s debut PRIMAL EP which first landed him accolades as a rising star. With over 30K viewers during his performance for last week’s Room Service Festival, KLOUD is proving these praises have not been given lightly. See why the scene is buzzing for this artist by streaming his newest release today!

A slave to the rave for nearly a decade now, Jennifer's passion for electronic music originally stemmed from her roots as a basshead and has since spread to all genres that make up the scene. In particular, she is drawn to styles of music with grittier basslines, textured sonic elements, and clean production. Inspired by her diverse exposure to dance music culture spanning from her first Coachella, Southern California desert parties, events in Berlin and Amsterdam superclubs, and highly regarded international festivals such as Dimensions Festival (Croatia) and Bass Coast (Canada), she brings a nuanced and critical perspective to all things electronic music and events. An attorney by day with a specialization in music business issues and a recent JD from Harvard Law, she can also be found in and around the Los Angeles nightlife scene - running sound and lighting for events through her production company, curating local showcases and spinning signature sets under her moniker "Party Fowl".
