The Landing || Volume 078
In anticipation of their new album, Barely Alive dropped title track “Odyssey”, a demonic whirlwind of bone-snapping dubstep.
Released on Disciple Records, heavy bass duo Barely Alive has returned with “Odyssey”, an epic journey of tranquil soundscapes twisting into ravenous dubstep whomps.
The beginning of the track has an 80s bounciness to it. Synth chimes trickle in before things are turned up a notch. Unsuspecting shotgun rounds of incinerating bass gulps shred through mercilessly. I’ve heard this track in some insane dubstep sets lately, and it definitely gets the crowd going. If you liked “Odyssey”, keep your eyes peeled for a 14-track album coming out August 13. If the wait is too long, you can listen to this mind-warping teaser of every single track on Odyssey dropping at the same time! – Jayce

Brooding upwards with John O’Callaghan in “Behind The Silence”.
John O’Callaghan is no stranger to the energy of trance, but his alias Joint Operations Centre tends to deliver a more tech-trance vibe with savage bass lines. It is no surprise that he delivers the madness again with “Behind The Silence,” a new release from Subculture. Dwelling in the darker depths of the genre may be the tell-tale sound here, but the beauty is equally sublime. Our legendary producer captivates with his vocal work on Kate Miles’ well-delivered performance. Combine that with the soft piano melodies in the breakdown and you get a tune that wraps you warmly and yet feels starkly cold and melancholic. This one will be a summertime special tune so be primed to hear it in many sets around the world. Sublime! – MyStro

Siriu2 stuns his fans with an epic psytrance crossover!
If you are a fan of everything trance then you are just going to love what S2 head honcho Siriu2 has in store for you this week! Out now on the label founded and nurtured by the man who is breathing new life into the meaning of boundary-free trance motivation, Siriu2 presents “I Am”!
Bonding psytrance with an essential touch of tech-house and techno, woven brilliantly together to meet a breakdown that only the spirit of uplift can stake claim to, “I Am” drips of raw dance floor madness. Bringing what just may be his most challenging yet rewarding production vision to life, Siriu2 has seriously outdone himself on this one and we just can’t get enough! From the very first beat, I am swept up in a tornadic expression of sound that fulfills all of my most deep, dark, and euphoric trance desires. My friends, Siriu2 has arrived guns blazing and I personally can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next! – Maria

Never going “Back Down” with a new track by Bob Moses!
Canadian electronic duo, Bob Moses, dropped a new single from their upcoming album, Battle Lines. With its catchy atmospheric vocals and melodic beat, “Back Down” is sure to get your body moving. The song gives me a sense of hope and determination and just like the lyrics say, it makes me never want to go back and never gonna back down. I was completely blown away by their set at Lightning in a Bottle 2017 and this latest release has me excited for what the rest of the album is going to sound like. – Julia

Rezz musters up all her darkness in “Life & Death”.
Rezz’s highly anticipated sophomore album, A Certain Kind Of Magic, dropped earlier this week and is full of dark magic. Space Mom has always been known to make boundary-pushing dark sounds and drops that make you question reality. “Life & Death” featuring Deathpact is a knocker from the get-go. The contrast of the beat and lyrics give this track a bipolar feel. It is extremely dark at the drop, but the monotone vocals make it eerily uplifting. The whole album embodies Rezz’s sound perfectly, but this track surely what you think of when you think of Rezz. – Zach

Idris Elba’s “Badman” spins us some vibrant, steamy tech-house
I know I’m a little late to this party but, Holy Heimdall, Idris Elba is a DJ! “Badman” is a spicy tech-house groove with an infectious, soulful vocal hook. This bright track is a must-add addition to your Cling Desperately to Summer playlists. It’s best enjoyed at sunset with a glass of something cold and fruity in your hand, to channel the lucky listeners that hear him spin this at his Ibiza set this weekend. – Kayla

Tennyson remixes Kasbo’s stunner of a tune that’s right at “Your Tempo”!
It has been seriously difficult to ignore the sounds coming out of Kasbo’s studio, and that has clearly rubbed off on other artists in the industry as well. Flipping his tune “Your Tempo” is Canadian duo Tennyson, who have blown both Kasbo and us away with their unique styling on the track. Tennyson does the track justice by keeping the sick vocal cuts and incorporating an infectious beat that you won’t want to stop listening to! – Grant

Kevin Over brings some old-school house vibes on remix of “Keep Movin'”
If you love that classic house sound, then this sick remix of Nelson (DE)’s track “Keep Movin'” by Kevin Over is for you! Releases as part of the official EP on Sense Traxx, Kevin has dominated our eardrums with deep vocal cuts and percussion elements that you simply cannot ignore. This release is no joke either, breaking the mold of other artists in the game right now by keeping the vibes as true to the deep house genre as possible and not inundating it with drops and other gimmicks. This tune is an absolute banger, perfect for those late night playlists to keep the vibes rolling. – Grant
