Zeds Dead’s “Lost You” is an iconic, upbeat piece that set the duo apart from other artists by displaying their ability to create music unlike anyone else.
Zeds Dead has been a celebrated duo in the electronic community for years, creating an eclectic variety of music that never seizes to amaze us. Their album Somewhere Else released back in 2014 contained several amazing tracks like “Collapse” and “Hadouken“. It also included “Lost You”, one of my absolute favorite songs, and what better way to appreciate it than with this week’s Throwback Thursday?
“Lost You” takes you through an energetic, uplifting, and beautiful rollercoaster of sounds that can’t help but put a smile on your face and pep in your step. The track begins with a steady build-up to the crisp beginning of the vocals that you can’t help but sing along to. It seems like incorporating snares, dubstep, vocals, pop, and several different rhythms into one track could be overbearing, but Zeds Dead did just that and absolutely nailed it.
Whenever I play this song with my friends all conversation stops and immediately we are overcome by the vibes of the song as we begin to dance together. I have bonded with others over music on several occasions and every time “Lost You” comes on, I immediately think of the amazing friendships I have created with people who enjoy the track as much as I do. I have created so many memories during adventures and long talks while having this song on repeat, which has embedded a much deeper and emotional connection to it.
Each time I listen to “Lost You” I feel a sense of confidence and happiness, developing a stronger love for music. This track keeps you engaged for its full duration, with each part is unique in its own way yet it stays tied together entirely. For me, it can even shift a bad day into a great one, and make a great one even better.
