What was your first electronic music event?
I was still attending college in South Florida when I really discovered EDM and the EDM scene. I would attend events at The Clevelander, then for my senior year of college, I was able to afford to go attend my very first music festival which was Ultra Music Festival 2012.
Ultra Music Festival 2012 was the year when Avicii headlined and when Madonna made her appearance. That is one of my favorite festivals of all time. I was able to see some of my favorite DJs for the very first time at Ultra. Then from there, I wanted more.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I love all types of music, but I especially love EDM. I realized that I have always loved “EDM” it just wasn’t called EDM when I was a teenager. The DJs that I first listened to are Eric Prydz, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Tiesto, and Infected Mushroom. To this day I continue to listen to all of them.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
One of the greatest moments I will never forget was when I attended Ultra Music Festival VIP in 2013 for their 15th Year Anniversary. Where I witnessed their one last show from Swedish House Mafia, they had everyone sit and when the drop to “Don’t You Worry Child” everyone jumped up all at the same time. It’s almost been five years that special moment and so many DJs try to mimic the same thing.
What is your favorite festival or event?
I have been to numerous music festivals from across the country and the globe my top five music festivals are MLUSA 2015, Awakenings Festival, Neversea Festival, Movement Detroit, and Tomorrowland 2015.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Eric Prydz – Every Day
Who are your favorite artists?
Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Fatboy Slim, Green Velvet, and Lee Burridge
What are your favorite genres?
Techno, House, Trance, and Hardstyle
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I always found myself helping people if I see they are in need. However, the one with a giant blanket sitting and relaxing just vibing out to the music. Sometimes I’m the dancer. Sometimes I’m ‘that one’ with an object or wearing a crazy die-tie outfit. I never always to ever festival with my lucky rainbow scarf and my ombre so people and friends can find me.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
Life is a rollercoaster, so many ups and downs that it can make you sick to the point where you can’t get out of bed. Every time I go to a music festival I ‘leave the world behind’. I just dance my frustrations away to the beat and only worry about myself and having fun. I live for music festivals, dance music is in my blood.
