Steve Angello Unveils New Vision On “Breaking Kind” & “Rejoice”
Steve Angello returns with two brand new songs called “Breaking Kind” and “Rejoice”!
Steve Angello has worked extra hard in the studio these days in preparation for the release of his upcoming album Almost Human on Kobalt later this year. If you are any type of Steve Angello fan then I know you are waiting with heightened anticipation for his latest long player to drop and to make the time fly by a little bit faster, Steve has bestowed upon his faithful followers not one but two tracks straight off the album; tracks that are far off the beaten path but carry quite the impact, full of personal meaning and inspiration.
“Rejoice” features not only a jaw dropping bassline but drips from start to finish with a powerful sermon by the mega popular U.S. preacher T.D. Jakes, dubbed by The New York TImes as one of the nation’s most influential and mesmerizing preachers and a man who has impacted Steve’s own life in a significant way. Not to be overshadowed, the second track “Breaking Kind” delivers quite the punch featuring the vocal stylings of Paul Meany, the lead singer and keyboardist for the Grammy-nominated U.S. rock powerhouse, Mutemath.

With “Rejoice” dubbed as the true inspiration behind Almost Human, Steve Angello is prepared to release his new album in three parts, shining a light on the many unique stages of his colorful and extravagant life and the recent spiritual awakening that has hit him to his core.
Broken into three acts Act l – Genesis, Act ll – Inferno, and Act lll – Paradiso, it becomes clear that Steve Angello has been touched by something bigger than what can be explained in words. Since his recent feelings of disillusion within his craft, Steve has turned to his higher power, culminating in a revamp of his original musical vision, providing his upcoming album and live performances as an alternative way to appreciate and experience pure soul driven dance music.
In a scene that far too often leaves the concept of religion far off in the shadows, I am truly grateful that Steve Angello has used his massive platform to break down the boundaries, showing the dance music world that it is more than o.k. to express your personal spiritual beliefs through music. Both “Rejoice” and “Breaking Kind” find their home in Act 1 – Genesis.
This is what Steve Angello said about his newest singles and the inspiration behind them:
“’Rejoice’ is the most powerful piece of music I’ve ever created. It isn’t a written record to fill a void or accomplish status – this is pure motivation, inspiration and honesty expressed by an incredible bishop that changed me completely. I’ve never done anything like it and I’ve never worked with words that meant more in my entire career. This record is ground-breaking for me as an individual. It came into my life when I needed it the most and I had to make that moment last forever by immortalizing it.”
“Breaking Kind” is one of my favourite songs of the album. The genius song melody, writing and performance floored me first time I heard it. It represents the soundtrack of my life, melodically and musically it hits every emotion I have for display. It moves me into Melancholy happiness, while delivering the highest form of nostalgia.“
