Get the lowdown on duo Still Young, and get ready for Summer with their exclusive guest mix!
Mysterious DJ Duo, Still Young, has been making moves in the electronic music scene over the past few years. Having little activity on social media and keeping their private lives hidden away from the industry, not much is actually known about them. What we do know, though, is that Still Young not only produces some great tunes but that they have also drawn the attention of the legendary Swedish House Artist, Steve Angello. Playing a progressive/electro house sound that is reminiscent of an era dominated by uplifting vocals and tracks that invoke emotion from listeners, it is no surprise that they have seen success over the years.
Still Young’s most recent release, “White Label”, blends Bob Marley’s vocals from “Is This Love” with an electro beat that is infectious. Released back in March on SIZE Records, the duo’s vision of no gimmicks, no masks, just good music that makes you want to dance has been supported immensely by the SIZE Records boss Steve Angello. It will definitely be interesting to see what the rest of 2017 has in store for Still Young, so listen to their exclusive mix below and read on for our chat with the duo!

Your first release of the year is a unique take on Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”. What led you to morphing those vocals?
We can’t take full credit for this part of the project as it was Steve’s vision to use these vocals.
What has been the best part about working with Steve Angello and SIZE Records on the release?
Their desire for passionate art and vision with projects as a group we all believe in. The team so far at SIZE is really on top of things and have a great hunger for great music!
Do you have a specific production process or way you construct tracks?
We really try to put ourselves in an emotional state of mind. Creating something as simple as a melody that gives a special feeling. After this, we build around it all. It’s hard to explain as every project we try and use different formulas but also coming back to one main ingredient, emotion.
How has working as a duo benefited you behind the decks and in the studio?
Two minds are greater than one. More ideas and feedback gets tossed back and forth which sometimes makes it easier and sometimes more difficult, regardless we love the journey either way.
As fresh artists on the scene, what has been the most difficult challenge you have faced so far?
Making fans and the general public understand we aren’t hiding who we are, but merely preserving our personal lives inside an industry built on exposure.
Who are some artists, electronic or not, that you have drawn inspiration from?
Cliche to say Daft Punk most definitely but also really respecting artists like Calvin Harris. Both artists seem to have a strong understanding of creating music that can please a great mass of people without losing their brand identity or loyalty for what they create.
Where is a dream venue that you’d like to play in the future?
Ultra and Tomorrowland.
What is in store for fans of Still Young in the rest of 2017?
Follow-up records, great collabs, experimenting with new sounds and finally the opportunity to meet the fans and supporters who have been by our side since day one.
