Duke Dumont Ocean Drive Cover Art

This week’s #TBT takes you back to 2015 with Duke Dumont’s hit track “Ocean Drive”!

Just before you head down to Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival this weekend, why not take a little joy ride back down “Ocean Drive”. The Duke Dumont track that was first released back in 2015 on Blase Boys Club (P1) has become one of the electronic music world’s top anthems. The track has also received remixes dozens of times from other big name DJs and producers like Alison Wonderland, Shaun Frank, and Hayden James. Overall, though, this is one of those times that the original outdoes any remix. Check it out below!

Duke Dumont- Ocean Drive – Lyrics:

We’re riding down the boulevard
We’re riding into the dark night, night
With half the tank and empty heart
Pretending we’re in love, when it’s never enough
As the silence filled the lonely air
Oh, they can hear now now now baby
We see a storm is closing in,
Pretending we’re escaping

Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on)
Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on)

We’re running all the red lights down
No way that we can stop, no no
A quarter tank is almost gone,
Pretending we’re in love, when it’s never enough
I wish we could take it back in time
Before we crossed the line, now now now, baby
We see a storm is closing in
I reach out for your hand

Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on)
Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on)

Oh oh, hold on, oh yeah, hold on

Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on), hold on
Don’t say a word while we danced with the devil
You brought the fire to a world so cold
We’re out of time on the highway to never
Hold on (hold on), hold on (hold on)

Christopher, or Brown Bear as his Festival Family and most of his friends call him, got his humble beginnings in the dance music scene when he was a child from none other than his mother. The weekends were filled with dance music from the 80’s and 90’s like La Bouche’s “Be My Lover” and Corona’s “Rhythm of the Night”. In 2010 his friends showed him a video from Bonnaroo of Pretty Light’s “I Know the Truth” and he immediately dived on in. Since then he has attended every live music festival from Spirit of Suwannee’s, Purple Hatters Ball (Jam Bands), to Let It Roll Drum & Bass Festival in the Czech Republic.

Chris has an eclectic palate for music; from Shpongle and Bassnectar to Oliver Heldens and Porter Robinson, he vibes with it all. He has traveled from coast to coast and around the world looking what he calls The Bear Necessities of Life; the simple things that make you smile, or you find visually moving. This pursuit and travels inspired Bearlosophy, his photographic journal of all his adventures. He aspires to travel the world taking photos for non-profit organizations or to work for one of the top EDM photography teams like aLIVE Coverage.
