You just can’t deny that Green Velvet has produced some funky techno beats since he hit the scene by storm in the early 90’s, and “La La Land” is certainly one of his best tracks to date!
“La La Land”, released back in 2001, is one of those tracks that has become very nostalgic and one that brings me straight back to the old school when the rave was still a rave. I remember being at a party and suddenly Green Velvet’s “La La Land” dropped and instantly the energy became wildly infectious. It was no surprise when I learned that “La La Land” was a track that was no stranger to receiving several major accolades. Beginning in September and October of 2001, La La Land charted for seven weeks on the Belgian hit-parade, peaking at the 22nd place, as well as hitting the 5th place standing of the local dance charts. In May 2002, this single reached the 29th place on the British charts.
Fast forward to 2017 and “La La Land” hasn’t lost any of its luster. And it’s no surprise because when it comes to Curtis Alan Jones aka Green Velvet, we find an artist who has always looked outside the box when it comes to creativity and musical expression. This track will always be the perfect representation of his unique vision and craftsmanship as a brilliant techno producer.
