JOYRYDE and OWSLA team up for the official release of “Hot Drum” and an upcoming EP.
OWSLA, the legendary label spearheaded by Skrillex himself, has always been at the forefront of finding rising stars in dance music. Their roster is expansive and includes the likes of Mija, What So Not, and Getter just to name a few. Adding to their roster is up-and-comer JOYRYDE. His song “Hot Drum“, which was released about two months ago, piqued the interest of Skrillex himself, who even opening his recent Boiler Room set with the song. Now, it’s being officially released on OWSLA! Along with this, there was the announcement that an upcoming three-song EP from JOYRYDE will be released on the label as well.

Jonney aka JOYRYDE has been plotting his takeover of the dance music scene for quite some time now. His SoundCloud spans back to a little over a year ago, where his signature bass house sound can be heard. His production is absolutely phenomenal and while a ton of other artists trying to create the same type of track, his sound reigns king. Dark, aggressive, but still something you can groove along to, it’s no surprise that JOYRYDE has been getting booked at just about every major festival and club. He made his debut at EDC Las Vegas 2016 and has since played at Avalon Hollywood, Escape: Psycho Circus and is slated to close out the year at Countdown. Along with his killer songs, his entire brand marketing is absolutely genius as well. From his name to his visuals to his fans, which he calls “RYDRZ,” everything is tight-knit and creates for a fantastic image.

I’ve listened to JOYRYDE for last six or seven months and it’s awesome to see him get the recognition he deserves. His DJ sets are incredible as well – I ended up catching his set at EDC LV 2016 and for a first live set, he absolutely crushed it. Everyone I was with was impressed as well!
Being put out on a major label, especially the size of OWSLA, is setting you up for major success. I’m genuinely curious and excited to see where JOYRYDE’s career takes him from here.
