Remixes are a beloved staple of the electronic dance music industry and with them, great songs are made even greater. We welcome remixes with open arms and in fact, most of us can’t wait until our favorite songs are remixed because it’s just another version to fall in love with. What’s even more exciting is when a mini album is pieced together with multiple remixes of a specific track as is the case with Markus Schulz‘s “Love Me Like You Never Did“. So who are the artists that took to their studios to try their hand in remixing such a wonderful track? We have NERQ, Nifra, Date Night, Alex Preston, Paul Damixie, Glover & ZUREZ, and Markus Schulz himself with his Daisy Summer rework and radio edit. To kick things off Markus Schulz extends the track to make it perfect for the summer season. The second spot has been reserved for the princess of Coldharbour, Nifra. She takes the original and deepens it, making it perfect for late night clubs when the energy is pumping.
Next up is NERQ’s rendition. NERQ slows it down a bit, adds an acoustic flair and places the focus on the vocals with a more laid back lounge vibe. Moving on we have Romania’s own Paul Damixie who has chosen to give the track a tropical house flair. Perfect for the beach or during a mid day tanning session with your friends. This is a remix meant for sunny days accompanied with a cool margarita! Now, where are all my house heads at?! Alex Preston answers back with a remix that oozes with house groove. This may be my favorite remix out of the lot. But, there are still two more to go!
Date Night’s rendition drops it down low but adds some percussion and horns to bring the happy vibes. In addition to the instrumentals, echoing the lyrics are a nice little touch that helps to separate him from the pack. The last artists to put their magic touch on the track is Glover & ZUREZ. They go even deeper with a track perfect for an after hours club. Cool percussion and piano beats are the highlights of this remix and I have no doubt this will be a favorite for the underground. The album wraps up with the radio edit to bring us back around full circle and the package is compete. 8 similar yet very different renditions of an already infectious track.
